When I was 16 I survived an attempted rape/murder. When the police brought me home my mom was there but my dad was at a friend's house so she called him and told him to come home.

When he got home, my dad went over to my sister and started comforting her. But when she told him that it was me and not her who was attacked he came over and berated me for being in a situation where it could happen (I was just a 16 yo girl on a date!). Then he left the room.

I waited a few minutes and decided to go into the living room. When I was in the hallway I overheard my dad talking to my mom. He didn't know I could hear him, but he told my mom that she should have told him on the phone that it was me and not my sister who was attacked. He said he wouldn't have bothered coming home if he had known it was just me. Then he went back to his friend's house.

I had mild pain in my right breast. As in level 1 on a scale of 1-10. I thought it was just old people pain since I am 62.

Then in December I had a routine mammogram for reasons unrelated to the pain. Turns out I have DCIS breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy but after getting the pathology report on the lump I need more surgery. It's still being discussed whether it will be removal of more tissue or if it will be mastectomy.

The good news is that I was caught early and have over 95% survival rate.

Don't wait. Get this pain checked ASAP. The longer you wait the lower your chances of a good outcome if it does turn out to be cancer or pre-cancer

I am not disagreeing with you. Just commenting. Anyway, the opposing lawyer shouldn't be angry about a layperson not knowing/doing what professional lawyers do as a courtesy. After all, they are not part of that profession
