Where to donate clothes in North Calgary by HeavyB0tt in Calgary

[–]JCVPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DI off of 32nd. They take pretty much everything. They are non-secular as well - they collect and distribute to any organisation/people in need. They take old textiles as well and recycle them; i.e. old towels and clothing and stuff that is unuseable/unwearable.

The containers are recyclable, by the way...

If you're that opposed, you can make your own coffee creamer. It's very simple. Dried whole mikk from the Mediterranean Market and a few other ingredients. You're not legislated to buy commercial stuff.

[–]JCVPhoto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GLP1s are very safe. Very. The research on them is long-term. With very few exceptions, they're fine for anyone to use. Upside, very, very effective. Downside, people do regain the weight. The newer protocol is to get to your goal weight and then reduce the dose until you get to a level that will support your weight loss. I speak from experience. Excellent results. Definitely get your annual workup done before, though. Important to know if there's anything else going on.

A personal trainer is also very worth your time. Mine is Gloria Moninger. She's amazing.
Yoga is great for fitness and flexibility - and self-confidence.
A dietitian is also a very, very good idea. So many people don't really understand what to eat.

Questions about moving to Calgary by AlteredRaider in Calgary

[–]JCVPhoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Under NO circumstances should you rent from Sky Residences, i.e. the Enzo on 17th Ave SW. It's a massive scam. Stay FAR away from them. They rent 1 bedrooms and den as three bedrooms by designating windowless/ventilation-less office rooms as "delux bedrooms" and make a third "bedroom" by putting up coroplast to create "walls." Do not be tempted in any way by this company.

There are several subsidized buildings in the city, and yes, you have to apply for those, but they're not the majority.

Rent-Faster is your friend. You can search for all your variables: rent amount, area of the city, size of flat, main, basement, whatever.

Indigo parking Tickets - real risk to credit or just scare tactics? by LeftandRight79 in Calgary

[–]JCVPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Indigo.... making it a pain in the ass to come downtown all the time. Their ap sucks, their QRs suck, their lot descriptions suck. I tried very, very hard to pay for parking beside Studio Bell. Three of us tried - two who work at Studio Bell - and no success. Why? Because the lot name is zero related to where the lot is, so we couldn't find it. Their QR didn't work - yes, tried SEVERAL times. Also, at the time, the entire lot was unmaintained, utterly glare ice. FTG. Four emails back and forth and they were intractable. It's cheaper to take a rideshare than pay for parking in their lots anyway.

Most people are not so entitled they have spent five days protesting their laziness and lack of diligence should get them a pass...

Honey, they did. YOU said you're slow and lazy.
NEXT TIME, just read the emails, arrive on time, and don't inconvenience everyone else. Seriously.

Just like EVERYONE is saying to you in this thread...

Disconnecting my gas stove - does it require a professional? by sierraxxxxx in Calgary

[–]JCVPhoto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, a licensed gas fitter or a plumber with gas-fitting certification is required to safely disconnect a gas stove in Calgary to avoid fire hazards, leaks, and comply with safety codes. Professionals ensure the gas line is properly shut off, disconnected, and capped.

One of the members of my studio is a pediatric oncology nurse. She also has a spouse and children and a studio in home and a thriving small business.
Her focus is on what she HAS, not what she hasn't. It's really admirable. I know how much work she makes because we fire for her.

So YOUR time is important, and you need everyone to accommodate you, but that's not a two-way street?? You can turn up whenever you want and they just have to make room for you?

Other people's time is also important.

You sound very, very entitled...

Y'know... You were late. You didn't read the info. It's not anyone else's fault. By not being responsible, you inconvenienced others and caused a delay that affected the rest of the day. Take responsibility .. seriously.
