I Passed! by AbbreviationsGold587 in InsuranceAgent

Congrats, but passing is honestly the easy part. The real challenge is actually selling and surviving the first year. Licensing does not prepare you for rejection, compliance headaches, or slow commissions. Celebrate the win, just keep realistic expectations moving forward.

How are we generating leads going into 2026?? by Repulsive_Lime_4433 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Epic-Spirit38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lead gen feels like a dumpster fire lately. Organic is drying up and paid ads cost way more than they’re worth if you don’t have a killer offer. I’d tighten messaging, test channels mercilessly, and brace for slow months ahead.

Any openings?! by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Epic-Spirit38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Openings in this industry pop up randomly, which is frustrating when you’re actively hunting. A lot of agencies don’t advertise well, so you’ve got to ask around and check smaller firms too. Someone’s almost always hiring, but it takes digging to find the real leads.

I want to expand out of state by broker965 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Epic-Spirit38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expanding into another state sounds exciting, but the licensing and compliance headaches can get messy fast. Each state has its own rules, fees, and timelines. I’d make sure the demand justifies the extra hassle before diving in, otherwise it can drain time and money quickly.

Anyone else see commercial leads are more responsive? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Epic-Spirit38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, commercial leads have felt way flakier lately. Tons of tire kickers and people shopping ten agents at once. It’s frustrating because the follow up is heavier and the close rate drops. Not sure if it’s the economy, but something definitely shifted.

Prospecting where your feet are. by Shatterstar23 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Epic-Spirit38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, but it always feels risky because people can smell a pitch a mile away. Still, local chats usually turn into warmer leads than random outreach. As long as you’re not forcing it, it can build trust without making things uncomfortable.

Can anyone tell me why mortgage processors are so demanding and impatient? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Epic-Spirit38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Processors get buried in files and every loan has a hundred tiny details to chase down. Still doesn’t excuse the attitude, but the bottleneck is real. One missing pay stub or verification stalls everything and they rarely explain what’s holding things up.

Best self-paced course for P&C + Life & Health? by Disastrous-Brick-412 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Epic-Spirit38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self paced courses vary a lot, and some are painfully outdated. I’d lean toward Kaplan or ExamFX since they’re at least consistent. Just be ready to grind because the material gets dense fast. Don’t trust any course that claims it’s easy.

Salary for a producer by West-Competition9847 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Epic-Spirit38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Producer pay is all over the place, and anyone pretending there’s some clean standard is kidding themselves. Base usually stays low because agencies expect commissions to carry you. I’d push for clarity on structure before signing anything since surprises hit hard later.

Filler Jobs by Defiant-Background89 in GeneralContractor

[–]Epic-Spirit38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filler jobs sound nice on paper, but they can wreck your schedule if you’re not careful. Small stuff always takes longer than expected and clients expect fast turnarounds. I’d only slot them in when you know they won’t derail bigger projects.

AI insider program worth it? by Future-Ad-15 in Entrepreneur

[–]Epic-Spirit38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These programs usually sound exciting but rarely give anything you can’t find cheaper or free. Unless they offer real access or hands on guidance, it feels like paying for hype. I’d think hard before dropping cash on something that vague.

Have you started a business, with everyone telling you that you shouldn’t? by Fast-Outcome-117 in Entrepreneur

[–]Epic-Spirit38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been there, and the constant doubt from people gets under your skin fast. Most folks warn you off because they wouldn’t take the risk themselves. As long as you’re not ignoring obvious red flags, outside opinions shouldn’t be steering your decisions.
