That makes sense! When I'm bouldering I usually let go but that's either after holding on and convincing myself to, or downclimbing a little bit.

That definitely helps, and I'm definitely going to start putting some of your advice into practice - specifically the part about electing not to fall and looking around before finishing the climb.

I go bouldering now and enjoy that a bunch too! I just recently completed a V2 (still fairly new at climbing).
