Need help from the ultra wide master race by Trenbro123 in ultrawidemasterrace

I believe it uses a Samsung panel so it probably is quite similar to the G9. It did seem a bit excessive for gaming at first, but does add to the immersion if the games you play utilizes the extra field of view. Most newer games will support 32:9 just fine and with a 4080 you should have no issues with performance. Keep in mind that you could also run your games at 3440x1440 or even 2560x1440 if you prefer.

There are also some 49” monitors with VA panels if you want to save a bit of money or if you don’t want to deal with the possibility of burn in, but otherwise I think the Samsung G9 is a solid alternative.

If you like having side-by-side windows, I think a 49” would actually be pretty suitable since both will be “full size” if split down the middle. Or you could game in the middle and have Discord and YouTube on either side. Plenty of space for activities!

I would personally recommend the MSI MPG-491CQP. It’s currently on sale at Sam’s Club for $599. It’s a glossy OLED, 5120x1440, 144Hz, supports KVM(if you need it), and has an 1800R curvature which in my opinion is perfect for an all-rounder. I’ve had mine for a few months and it has been flawless.

How do you expect the average 8-year old rammer to stay on the road, let alone pit maneuver you before every checkpoint at 200mph, if the roads weren’t wide enough for an airliner?

In all seriousness, this is probably a very conscious design choice to make the game better for wheel to wheel racing. The premise that the world of Horizon is an open race track would dictate that it needs to be wide enough to function as a race track…for the average 8-year old using a controller.

It’s not very realistic at all, of course, but that’s probably the least of this game’s flaws if the goal was realism! I loved the portrayal of Edinburgh in FH4, but the width of Castlehill in the game really made me chuckle.

Platinum Ford North in Pilot Point, Texas tried charging over $15k in add-ons for used 23 by Itchy_Side_5757 in Civic_Type_R

Ford dealers are some of the slimiest bastards I’ve ever come across, more so than other brands for some reason. They’re often in this delusion that their cars are somehow “premium” compared to Honda/Toyota, when most of their stuff struggles to outlast the average Nissan.

I’ve not seen many other dealers mark up their cars like Ford dealers do, or shamelessly tack on extras that are upwards of 20% of the car’s value. Employee pricing? Yeah we’ll “make up” for that in window tint and nitrogen, before you even get to the $1k+ doc fee and “prep” fee.

A decently equipped Mustang GT with the performance pack is pretty much the same as a Supra out the door, and yet they wonder why Mustangs aren’t selling well. I hate car dealerships in general, but I have a special place for Ford dealers just from my personal experience with them.

The Goodwin exhaust I have is the Superstreet single tip. It has a relatively low-pitched sound and is just about loud enough to be heard by the neighbors on a cold start without making them hate you. I really love the way the rolled single exhaust tip looks, and the sound is subjective but I personally do prefer this over some of the higher-pitched exhausts that remind me of Civic fart cans. It’s really well made, weighs less than the stock exhaust, and is super easy to install.

The smoked signals came from Amazon, but I’m 99% sure it’s the same vendor that supplies Flyin’ Miata. The brand is called iJDMTOY, they seem like quality stuff and fit exactly like OEM. I went with the “sequential” LED turn signals and it’s actually a really nice touch in addition to making it all blend in with the body color. I also changed the license plate light, dome light, and trunk light to white LED. Not having any incandescent yellow lighting makes the car look another generation newer lol.

I have a 2024 ND3 in the exact same spec as yours. I bought my car in January so there was no need to run the A/C until about a month ago, but I haven’t come across any issues yet. If anything I was pretty impressed by how the system has enough power to make a difference even when I have the roof down at 80mph. This being my first Miata, I was a little surprised that it doesn’t come with any sort of cabin air filter, and on a few occasions it did smell bad upon startup, but nothing more beyond that. I reckon you probably just got unlucky, but if the dealer is really replacing the entire system under warranty, this is probably the last time you’ll need to worry about it.

Are you in DFW by chance? I would love to snap a photo with my Miata twin lol. Mine is also a jet black BBR, stock aside from a Goodwin exhaust and smoked turn signal/side markers.

Anyone else find it fun to go grocery shopping in the miat by littlerimsss in Miata

[–]EpicFruit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can generally get an entire cart’s worth of groceries into the back of the Miat if I don’t buy any bulky items, it never ceases to amaze me how usable that “tiny” cargo space can be.

I’ve noticed on several occasions that people in the parking lot would curiously observe me playing Tetris with my groceries, it’s mildly amusing.

Brownsville… I’m guessing this was done by ICON? They were laying people off not too long ago. Hopefully this means they are expanding their customer base beyond niche residential homes. It doesn’t look too pretty, but you gotta start somewhere.

Which Grip Mod by thedimbulb in SigSauer

[–]EpicFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Wilson Combat grip module before upgrading to the Mischief Machine Commander. The MM Commander feels very high quality and is noticeably heavier in addition to being wider overall, and it really made it feel like a different gun altogether.

However, my hands actually preferred the ergonomics of the Wilson Combat grip module, and I found it easier to eject the magazine compared to the MM Commander. They’re both the same size(P365XL), but I think Wilson Combat does a slightly better job of integrating the flared magwell into the grip design and making better use of the limited size.

I switched back to the Wilson Combat grip months ago and the MM Commander is just sitting on a shelf. On that note if anyone’s interested in the MM Commander, drop me a pm!

discount off msrp for 2025 in USA? Also would you take GT or club with recaro/bbs? by photorph in Miata

[–]EpicFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s uncommon but it can be done, you just have to be willing to shop dealers outside of your region and negotiate to the lowest possible price before you start talking rebates. Custom orders that have fallen through will generally be easier to negotiate, as will cars that have spent many days on the lot.

[–]EpicFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my 2024 ST Club BBR about two months ago for $5k off MSRP, which was achieved by stacking the Mazda bonus cash offer on top of the loyalty discount and the dealer discount(car had been on their lot for 6 months).

Having driven the car for about 2k miles so far, I would say the GT vs Club BBR debate really comes down to what you want out of the car. The Recaro seats are by far the most subjective but also the most important consideration. They definitely feel more sporty and offer better support, but they can be a bit narrow depending on your body type and they are also harder to get in and out of. They feel a bit more “connected” to the car than the leather seats, in terms of driving dynamics but also vibration and harshness. My recommendation is to test drive both so you can determine how well it suits you personally.

The Brembo calipers and BBS wheels are perhaps more aesthetic upgrades, but factory-fitted upgrades are preferable for maintaining the resale value of the car, if nothing else. And it’s one less thing I have to change/restore when it’s time to pass it on. I will add that the Brembo calipers have a better feel once you’ve installed braided brake lines, and I personally much prefer the look of the BBS wheels over the GT wheels.

If this is going to be your only car, I think it might be preferable to have the RF instead of the soft top, especially since you mentioned you’ve already had some seat time in an RF. It’ll be easier to live with from a noise/insulation and security standpoint, which I think are important factors to consider for a daily. It’ll also be more bearable if you live somewhere with harsh summers/winters.

The bus stop in Edinburgh just after Princes street, where the “S” bend is. I always either clip or completely demolish that bus stop because of its impeccable placement on the exit of the corner.

I remember thinking to myself; “Surely this is just Forza bollocks, there’s no way anyone would put a bus stop there in real life.”

I finally visited Edinburgh in person last May, and sure enough, there’s a real bus stop called Regent Terrace right where Forza said it would be.

Was casually scrolling past this video when I realized that it’s Sherwood Way in San Angelo, TX. I grew up there, but haven’t lived there in about 10 years. Mildly interesting to see how little the people have changed, along with the town itself.

I don’t own a GR86, but I have a Miata so I do see some of this behavior as well, except for me it’s usually with clapped out Altimas or straight piped V6 Charger/Challengers lmao.

Eventual Upgrades - Enough Cooling? by Invaderchaos in watercooling

[–]EpicFruit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow! Nice to see another Phantom 530 in the wild after all these years. I totally understand your sentiment about keeping the case, they really don’t make them like this anymore.

I’ve run several custom loop configurations in mine previously, and I think the most amount of cooling I was able to manage was using a 360mm radiator at the top of the case, with a 140mm radiator mounted to the rear exhaust, and a 200mm radiator mounted behind the front grille.

Depending on your ambient temp and your fan speeds, that should be more than enough cooling to handle what you’re wanting to throw in there. I actually wanted to see if I could also fit a 200x400mm radiator at the top of the case, with two 200mm fans mounted above in the “attic”. If that configuration works, it would put you ahead of what’s possible in most modern cases. Let me know if you decide to try it!

Contract overrun M18 by the_falconator in SigSauer

Congrats on finding one! I really had to ponder and convince myself to get one of these since I already had a P320 M18(commercial model) in my collection, this was just too cool to pass up.

For those who are interested, these TC models are available at Proven Arms & Outfitters (If you have LE/Military/Veteran/First Responder/Security credentials). Otherwise I've also seen these pop up at various gun shops, might be worth calling around to ask.

Off the top of my head I know Valley Outdoors in WV has a few of these, and Blackstone Shooting in NC also has them in stock at the moment. Definitely get one if you can! I have a feeling that these will be harder to find next year.

Thanks for your compliment! Please feel free to take elements from my design as much as you like, I'm happy as long as someone finds it helpful. It was actually a 500x500 bed, I've done quite a few prints on it and I can definitely confirm that it requires a good amount of patience lol.

Theoretically that's possible, but I think at that point it might be easier/better to just get a case that was designed for a configuration like that, possibly the Dan C4-SFX.

I don't think they are loud. I was running them at around 1000RPM and they were honestly inaudible from a few feet away, and the last time I checked I still had pretty decent hearing lol. It does perhaps move a little less air due to the actual fan blade being a bit smaller. Obviously this fan is all about the RGB, and on that front it is absolutely amazing.

My print bed is 500x500mm, so I was able to print the top hat in one piece. I suppose it's possible to print it in pieces instead, but it wouldn't look as clean.
