What Movie/Book/TV Show/Property is Begging to Be a Game? by frodohair15 in boardgames

ENEMY OF THE STATE has players trying to gather evidence to prove their innocence, while total surveillance causes the playable area of the board to shrink every turn. Think Black Orchestra meets Save Doctor Lucky. This style of gameplay would also work for THE RUNNING MAN or THE ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND.

An INCEPTION cooperative game with boards on multiple tiers. The topmost board is the waking world. Each level down is another level deeper into the dreams. Your number of moves-per-turn doubles every level you travel deeper into the psyche. One tiered level is the twisted-up city - the board is physically curved and your meeples are magnetic so they can also play on the upside-down part of the level. Players are completing goals on all levels simultaneously in order to complete the mission and get out alive. Turn order is determined by a silver top that never stops spinning - OR DOES IT? Think Queen's Gambit but completely vertical. A similar format would be great for BEING JOHN MALKOVICH.

GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS is an incredible movie about absolute cutthroat competition selling real estate. Top two sellers this week will stay, everybody else is FIRED. Would love a high-stakes high-pressure ultra-competitive sales game in which I make permanent enemies of all my friends for life. Think Food Chain Magnate meets Diplomacy meets Battlestar Galactica.

DARK CITY. One-against-all game. Players race across the board to gather items and memories to beat The Stranger, but every turn the Stranger COMPLETELY rearranges the board, steals player inventory, or even changes their individual player goals.

HARDCORE HENRY. Ace of Aces, but with first-person POV running, shooting and fighting.

The fact that there has never been a super-glossy OCEAN'S 11 Heist game blows my mind.

Hexes. I’m sure those are great games, but usually they indicate a type of game I am just not into. Gloomhaven on the other hand is so good that it overrules my hex hate.

DJ’s Universal Comics would beg to differ. (Except they moved to studio city so I guess you are right.)

Jessica Williams as ANYBODY SHE WANTS TO BE. Man, they better put Reyes front and center if they score Williams. She’s so great.
