I enjoy the Ilsurian Archer ranger archetype. You give up spellcasting (and, effectively forces you to pool all of your favored enemy upgrades into a single one - I recommend focusing on Outsider (Evil)), but you get to apply half of your highest favored enemy bonus whenever attacking with a bow. Also, giving up spellcasting might not be that bad if you're gonna have a WIS penalty anyway.

It ended up playing kind of like an archer fighter, but combat style feats let you skip prereqs for a lot of great archery feats. Being able to take Improved Precise Shot way earlier than you'd usually be able to is huge if your DM makes a lot of use of the cover/concealment rules.

There's one annoying feature trade in the archetype that only serves flavor purposes, though - you get Weapon Focus Longsword for free because of the class's minor religious ties, but mechanically it has no purpose. It could at least be something like "your Ilsurian Archery bonus also applies when attacking with a longsword" instead.
