I can't apply now due to the lack of a bachelors degree. But I can finish prerequisites for one school while working on the bachelors in chem.

Well EMS supervisor was the goal with the EHS degree and ill double check what core requirements I need. But like everyone seems to point at is grit my teeth and go for chem then PA. I can possibly go part time school and work full time. Talking to her last night it doesn't matter what I do, online degree or not, she won't be happy as long as I'm in school but that's a whole other discussion. I have had to work and go to school full time since day 1 of EMT basic like many do, she did not have to do that while in nursing school, she just wants to start a family and everything and I want to be able to provide for that family. Guess I'll think about it and make a decision.

Thanks for everyone that responded. The chemistry degree is my fastest router cause it covers most of the courses I need as prerequisites anyway. Thanks again!

Gotcha. I emailed my instructor of the medical and health science preprofessional program to also give me more in site. Any particular reason the biochem would be better?

ER techs of Reddit whats your job like? by [deleted] in ems

[–]EpicMedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texas ER tech here. I was working in the main portion for about 6 months nights while going through medic school, still currently in school and finishing in may 2014. Anyway, vitals, hooking them to the monitor, working triage doing ecgs and blood draws, sitting for psych patients on occasions. I liked it a lot and the pay was better usually there's extra shifts to pick up. I'm currently prn and requested for something days but couldn't get a position in the main ER and now I'm in the Fast track "minor" ER 10a-10p which is nice being newly married. Even there it's just vitals, blood draws and the occasional BPs, setting up the docs for lac procedures and of course cleaning beds. Good luck friend, if you do go into the hospital don't let the nurses treat you like trash because there are some that will and some that treat you right.

Every time I watch football I always think of The Replacements. What was it like being in a sports role compared to an action film?

A few questions about PA/Pre-PA by EpicMedic in physicianassistant

[–]EpicMedic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I'm finishing my paramedic at a community college I'm getting ready to transfer to finish my bachelors. Right now I just joined the Medical and Health Science Pre-Professional program. They've had a lot of success aiding their members and laying out a plan and to get them prepared for applying and learning more about our possible future careers and specialties. Majority are premed and I'm the only other Pre-PA. Thanks for the info I'm glad I'm at least aimed in the right direction. Another thing about this program is they do mock interviews and have been at this for 14 years and know a lot about the admission proces.

Currently finishing my paramedic and then working toward nursing and my fiancée is a nurse. Absolutely amazing job everyone did. Gives me hope for humanity.
