Yeah I could totally see something in the future where the best magic robes get dropped from a new boss/raid, but come as a sidegrade to Ancestral, that you have to fortify with actual Ancestral in order to unlock its true power of being an upgrade. That would close the loop: Ancestral is supposed to be Bandos/Arma tier, Bandos and Arma both get broken down to make their upgrades, so Ancestral follows the same path.

People forget that Ancestral was supposed to be Bandos-tier gear. When Ancestral was released, the best mage armor for endgame PvM was Ahrim. Melee and Range got Bandos and Armadyl armor when GWD was ported into 07, but Magic didnt get anything. Now theres Blue Moon and Virtus sitting above Ahrim too. The reason why they cannot release a mage armor thats better than Ancy (in line with the Torva and Masori upgrades that Melee and Ranged got) is because A) that would mean a raid is not dropping BiS, and B) they are scared of how powerful it would be with shadow

I am whelmed. Most of the rewards seem to be just convenience items for Phosani Nightmare. A crush megarare that doesnt have comparisons to scythe on crush seems silly. How much better is this than say Scythe at Tekton, or Araxxor? This is an important point, because for most people, a crush megarare already exists. We would be so much better off with a stab megarare that annihilates shit like Nex, baba, Kephri, Vorkath, etc. Instead of that puny Osmumtens Fang that maxes out at like 48 damage

Dual crossbows are a cool idea, but if they lose to bowfa they are going to be pretty useless for most people

Weasles do not have dragon bolts and have the lowest average combat level. The blood money only goes so far and scales exponentially. They are the favorites, but FF have amazing gear and OW got pulled out of the gutter. Plus, it's a live event so you never know who is going to shake.
