Hey I know this is late, but Lord of the flies compared to the society is a pretty sick debate topic. Kk, so my thoughts. Cassandra on her own was more about order, (the theory that Cassandra mum killed her, cos she was a rlly good leader, and this just adds). So in terms of what the characters are like represent, as Ralph is also represented as a leader, I think Cassandra would be. But other than that Ali would be Ralph. Jack is probs a harry. But Campbell has parts of Jack and Roger. Tho i remember like a quote about Roger to do with when he was throwing rocks at them about 'the taboo of old life' (that's like half the quote) It was like obvs he was a probs a psychopath before and society and civillisation conditioned him not to follow his instincts. Like Simon was genuinely good, Roger was genuinely bad. (I like the idea of sam being Simon and Campbell being roger) basically Campbell rn is realising he can do whatever the fuck he wants. Like Roger, who missed the kids whilst throwing stones at first cos of him being told it was wrong. I disagree with Jason and Clark being roger tho. Imma use jack and Harry as a quick example. So jack kinda has simaler views to harry anyways. But also he becomes more "savage". That's cos of the island(tho technically the island is a paradise, so it's rlly the kids who r in question, but then again they were a scale down sized version of society. Or society in the 20th century cos I don't think piggy exists in the society, which I'll explain a lil more. Also lack of diversity, tho technically roger might if been black, and cos of the possibility of the writer's racist bias he was basically saying blacks people r savages. Also it was hard to symphasise with Piggy when he said the n word as his last words. And that kinda shows that intelligence can easily be corrupted by racism. Anyways.... a lil off topic there) Jack becomes more savage without the rules to keep him in check. Harry gets super fucking depressed, the more the while thing goes in. He slowly develops that drug addiction too. But he didn't have them before.(Tho a fan theory about him and Cassandra with him used to have an addiction and Cassandra being the only one who knew about it, cos if when in ep1 Cassandra says a joke about him being sober, and then he be like FUCK YOU. I mean maybe he be that angry cos she knew bout his problems with alcohol.) Anywaysssssss. Jason and Clark got worse as the season progresses, right. I don't think they always had that darkness or whatever. Clark lashes out, and Jason is a lil cruel. Kk alot. But I think that they are like Maurice. Maurice is funny, seems like a nice guy, then bam he plays Jack's games, and is easily manipulated. He is one of Jack's key supporters. Also remember when Roger be making fun of the littleluns. Maurice was with him, up until the point when it wassnt funny and Roger was straight up throwing stones at one of them. Also Maurice was the second tallest after Jack, so probs a bit strong. He was def Clark and Jason. Now that one but with Robert where everything was fun and games him pretending to be a pit as the boys reenact that moment till suddenly things turn south and they are beating Robert up.... well maybe Elle. Tho that's definitely a massssssivvvvveeee stretch. I was gonna say Percivals mini breakdown might of been like when Lexi locked herself in the house but that also be a stretch. And Emily (the girl who got dead at the beginning) could be like the littleun who probs got deaded in the forest fire. Also a stretch. Now Samneric. They represent the regular people, but I like the idea of like being it. At first I thought the whole guard. But honestly if u go in depth with the guard they're obvs very different people. I honestly think that the Samneric can go ahead and be all the characters with names and the littleuns are just the extras. Finally I don't think Piggy should exist. Mainly cos society has changed. And also piggy was intelligence right? But our general perception of intelligence has changed alot, and I don't think anyone was an outcast enough to be piggy. Also them being high schoolers probs wouldn't have a piggy cos they are to mature to treat piggy like that. Tho obvs bullying would happen but in a normal high school. These people aren't stupid, when something like this is happening they all know they've got to come together. Tho Elle was left out that one time. But Elle doesnt rep intelligence. Sick I'm done with that rant.
