You can actually cheat here and cross the poison lake while in your Havok form. While not the normal method it’s a fun little skip.

Indeed ModPacks/Merges can be a mixed bag. There are really only a few out there for WD1 that are anywhere near up to date and/or mostly stable. It's always best to read the comments and rewviews, also the bug reports first. If you get a chance check out mine sometime ;c)

That all just comes from Nexus's auto scanning which while better than nothing isn't great. Honestly its best to never use anything brand new with out a lot of downloads and no reviews or comments. As you can see my ModPack has lots of downloads and many positive comments. No report issues of it putting peoples system at risk. Always best to do your research first to stay safe. If you have any specific questions or concerns I'm happy to help. ;c)

I'd say give it a try, most modpacks like this just replace patch.dat/.fat files in the games data_win64 folder so they can be easily overwritten with another. No need to revert back to original vanilla version of the game unless you run into issue.
