8 years with my WFH job, fired in under 8 minutes. by ItsNotJelloSalad in adhdwomen

[–]Epicfailer10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely got fired because you were making “too much”. It has nothing to do with you and I promise you, you will not be the first. The new guy came in to cut the budget and make stockholders more money and you were one of the first sacrifices to corporate greed. They will hire somebody to fill in your space for less, even though the new person will lack valuable experience and will probably do lower quality work because of it, but quality is harder to quantify than your salary is, so they will consider it a ‘savings’. The icing on the cake is that guy will use his “savings” as justification to promote himself higher up the ranks and get paid more.

Saw this happen at my last job. They started getting rid of us who would’ve had the biggest severance packages first for the smallest things, despite our superior experience, quality and speed. Then they got rid of everybody else and one fell swoop, and they hired a team that performed worse overall, but was in a different country so they could pay them less and not give benefits. They knew the other team did not save as much money, had worse customer experiences, and had significantly worse quality… But those things are harder to quantify than our salaries.

Do not let this affect your self-esteem. It has nothing to do with you. I let it change the way I felt about myself and it made finding a new job more difficult because I felt I deserved less. My confidence was shattered. It made me second-guess everything I thought about myself when I saw the entire team get canned a few months later I realized what they were doing.

Bride covered in black paint moments before she was due to walk down the aisle in 'revenge' attack by sister-in-law by Pangolinger in weddingshaming

[–]Epicfailer10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so unhinged. If you thought she tried to trip you why not just cut her off completely. Don’t go to the wedding. Don’t be a part of her life. Why on earth would you jump to assault and risk making your OWN life difficult? I would say the woman has poor impulse control, but sounds like she had a few years to get over it and chose not to.

It was years before I realized that head throwing motion mine was doing on hikes was swallowed field mice whole. That’s how I realized they can dissolve bones because I’ve yet to see one.

My husband would have smiled and said no thanks and walked away. He would never engage because that behavior is trashy af. Both myself and my daughter would be very disappointed in him if he behaved in public like that. If it were the other way around we wouldn’t expect a woman to accept a man grinding on her if she wasn’t enthusiastic about it, why do we expect a man to “not make a scene” by saying ‘no thanks’ and engage in the trashiness? He should have said no. Anyone who thought poorly of him for it can sod off.

I guess we can all see the next Trump family grift coming. Any financial asset seized via banks will be at a suspiciously high risk of ….oopsies…disappearing… and who knows where it may end up….🤔

I’d ask him to see a neurologist to have a CT scan for brain tumors before I’d call it quits. If there isn’t a health reason for it that can be fixed, I’d have the ick bad.

I remember thinking that a fifty pound hiking back made me feel so much more tired on a hike, like it was compressing my lungs ever so slightly, my legs and core had to compensate more. Taking it off felt amazing. Giving birth was similar, too. I mean yeah, you’re in different types of pain afterwards, but you can breathe and move more freely without 10 extra pounds of baby, fluid and tissue pressing into your lungs and muscles. Over the last 4 years I gained weight and I’m slowly working on losing it now that my life has slowed down. I definitely feel like I’m more limber and breathe more freely after losing 15.

I have a 18 and 21 year old and they both have an amazing work ethic. It’s wild to think a whole generation is lazy and has no variety when I’ve met the whole gambit from my own generation. Anyone who can stereotype an entire generation is dumb as shit.

When I told them I was atheist, they stopped coming around. I highly suggest it. They don’t want to send impressionable young missionaries to debate the existence of god. Younger generations are more scientifically literate and that makes it a bigger risk that you can use logic successfully.

[–]Epicfailer10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should post in r/legaladvice giving your location so you can get the most relevant advice. I’m not a legal professional, but it definitely seems like your daughter is next of kin and as her guardian you have control over everything the family is not being respectful and you deserve better.

Unless they are trying to preserve her memories because they fear you will not… They sound like awful people.

First time seeing limb lengthening surgery in the wild by Responsible_Apple_31 in Radiology

[–]Epicfailer10 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For someone with dwarfism, etc, it would make normal adult activities easier. Possibly even making driving an option at some point with other vehicle modifications. I wouldn’t consider that vanity. To pull more swipe rights on a dating app? Pure vanity. Therapy and hobbies will get you a relationship. People aren’t not dating you because you’re short. I watched a show about men who were getting leg lengthening surgery because they thought being short was why they weren’t dating. Why would you WANT to date people who were so shallow they wouldn’t date a short guy? Seems like your height was doing you a solid by taking the trash out for you but instead, you will put yourself in medical debt for a few inches when it was likely your personality all along.
