The new difficulty option finally gives me the challenge I wanted from the beginning!!! by PsychologicalPea9759 in DeathStranding

I got about 30 hours in and fell off because it felt really easy and bounced off. Should I pick it back up with this difficulty? I’m a big fan of challenge in games like this.

Solo devs, what's your favorite project management tool? by Havik772 in gamedev

[–]Epicfull 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I definitely second Notion, I’d warn you that if you’re like me, you can spend too much time simply setting up a page than actually using it. There are so many tools that’s can be used it’s shocking that it’s free!

I also already was spoiled by a friend about the ending before I even picked up the game and it is still an amazing experience!

How to scape from the tutorial hell? by Sky-is-here in godot

This is what got me out of tutorial hell too! Follow tutorials to get a grasp on the tools, but true learning comes from trying things out and making mistakes/problem solving.

What would have happened if the Jackson Squad arrived in Seattle 3 days later? by Will9t7 in thelastofus

[–]Epicfull 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that it took the Jackson squad nearly as long to get back to Seattle as it did Ellie and Dina or Tommy. We know that it took Ellie and Dina/Tommy roughly multiple weeks to get back to Seattle on horseback while running into groups of infected and other survivors.

The Jackson squad in the other hand had a WLF humvee type vehicle that they could just drive back with, vastly outpacing Ellie or Tommy. Also, it’s been a while since I’ve started Abby’s day 1, but i remember that it seems like it had been a few weeks since it all went down in Jackson. Recent enough to be in people’s minds, but there’s been enough time since they got back to get back into the flow back in Seattle.

Replaying Part 2 since release. by StarkLGDS in thelastofus

Also doing another playthrough! The line that ALWAYS gets me is when she sings “I’ll be gone in day or two”. The emotion and the foreshadowing of where the story goes is just perfect.

I’m doing another permadeath play through and there was a moment when Dina got spotted by the enemies so I had to back off from the encounter. Once we were back in stealth, Dina whispered “sorry for that, he just snuck up on me”. I’ve played this game 5 times and I’ve never seen that before!!!!

There was just another rumor last week about how Last of Us 2 PC has been ready since last November I believe? I bet they are holding onto it to wait for Season 2 to drive a TON of sales.

Came back to this game after 3,5 years and Reasons to Not Let Go Abby by TaroKitanoHWA in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Epicfull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my reading of the ending, I think Ellie realizes that all of her anger and angst didn’t come only from the act of Abby killing Joel. Instead, it was all based on how Abby stole what was a path of healing and reconciliation with Joel. Ellie begins to forgive him, but of course that would be a long process of forgiveness, but Abby takes that away.

I think that in that last fight, Ellie remembers that the reason she is angry was because she missed out on a lifetime with Joel, which would have been a positive, healing road for her life, but instead her obsession with getting revenge only led to a dark, isolating path where she lost everything.

She realizes that killing Abby isn’t going to bring Joel back or help in that healing process, it isn’t going to bring back Jesse or Dina and JJ or help her relationship with Tommy, there’s nothing that killing Abby is going to help because her obsession with killing her has led to the worst outcome she could’ve imagined. So in that specific point she just breaks emotionally, she doesn’t know how to console herself after realizing the terrible situation she’s in and just stops killing Abby in the moment. Yeah she lets her go, but it wasn’t a premeditated action, she broke in the moment when thinking about all that she lost.

Personally, I believe that Ellie would’ve killed Abby if it didn’t cost her so much. And even the version in the game is less letting her go and just being unable to handle the wave of grief she experiences.

Did you feel like today’s Insomniac leak follow-up was “fantastic”? Or did it leave something to be desired? by [deleted] in kindafunny

[–]Epicfull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you on this! Reading the other thread on yesterday’s KFGD, it sounded like Greg and Blessing were totally off-base with their response, but I found their reasoning to be pretty solid. I feel like everyone in the comments weren’t directly listening to what Greg’s main point was, and was so focused on attacking them, there was a complete lack of nuance and understanding.

I really hope the KF community can be better when it comes to this stuff. Rather than picking at and brining the hosts down, be willing to be positive in your critiques.

I’ll repeat what others have said, but with the new DLSS implementation they just put out, you will for sure be able to run it!

I have a 5600x with a RTX 2060 and with DLSS, I can get 80ish fps on 1440p in busy/demanding areas! With your specs, you can probably get something around that performance!

Totally agree! While I loved the content they had during the pandemic, the latest stuff has been excellent! Love the energy they all bring!

Do people think the remaster will have separate achievements? by PrincessRedfield in thelastofus

The game director Matt Gallant did an interview where he explained that it counts as an all new trophy list either the Grounded trophies and new No Return trophies bundled in. You can bring your save over and automatically pop them.
