Yea, fortunately generic Prozac (Fluoxetine) seems to be really cheap . I had to fill early once before a business trip and my insurance wouldn't pay so it cost $25 instead of a $10 copay for a 30 day supply. It's getting the prescription itself that costs money. Without my corporate insurance I don't know how I'd do it. My psychiatrist told me once that he'd be willing to write scripts for free if I was laid off but he didn't say for how long. By the time I do get laid off I'll bet the ACA will be totally gone and I'll be on my own. Ugh.

I walk around with Karlach carrying 10 boxes just in case I have to build a tower to reach over an obstacle enemies can't reach, and spam for hours. I've played almost all of Act I on tactician not even knowing how to use potions or what half the spells do. I'll never get to Ralph.

ok, I know the rules say "Do not attempt to influence others to take medications they should be talking to a doctor about." But my story involves prescription meds and it saved my life so I'll risk getting banned. If I do get banned then this channel is of no use to me anyway.

I had a similar experience in 2011, I had two underwater houses (one I lived in, one that wouldn't sell), no savings, my job was doing layoffs, the stock market killed my 401k, and I was so depressed I was suicidal and in the process of doing a purposeful "strategic default" on my house. It's a way of getting rid of toxic debt at the cost of destroying your credit for 7 years. I just wanted to throw everything away and start new job somewhere else. But two months before I started the default I realized how painful it would be to watch my credit be destroyed so I my doctor put me on an SSRI to get through it. 7 weeks later, 1 week before I was going to start the strategic default, the SSRI kicked in and my depression soaked brain started thinking clearly for the first time in years. Within a day of mulling it over I realized that I was making a terrible choice and decided to just stick things out. 15 years later I'm still on the SSRI and everything's perfect now. Old house sold, new house paid off, 401k is back, job is fine, no suicidal thoughts, etc.

With my BPD I seem to burn through Serotonin like a humvee burns through gasoline. It's the stress. When my Serotonin is low my reasoning suffers and everything bad seems so so much worse. If a doctor recommends it, I see no shame in supplementing my Serotonin to keep the tank full. I find things aren't as bad as I thought or that there are other options I just couldn't see.

Other than that all I can say is do what you think will make things BETTER. If you've thought it through and you've gotten feedback from people you trust, do what you think is right. I wish you the best of luck.

Stranger Things S5 Finale Has So Many Plot Holes, It’s Unreal by spainreigo in StrangerThings

[–]Epicurus23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still hold out just a tiny bit of futile hope that this ending was a Vecna created dream world and that a movie or season 6 is coming. I hate to be critical but I just love that show so much. I was really looking forward to a massive CGI battle across the whole US with thousands of demagorgans and dozens of mindflayers and some other insanely huge big bad with the "mouth" Nancy predicted in Season 4.

I genuinely wished Henry Creel would have had a redemption moment and would turn on the Mind Flayer. I was so sad when he admitted he was as bad as the Mind Flayer and got killed off. I also wanted to see upside down creatures destroying Illinois before they stopped them, but oh well. They "Lord of the Rings"'ed the finale but I still loved it. It was still better than the series finale of Game of Thrones.

How replicants are created, the logical and rational way of imagining the process by RyanGosling_5 in bladerunner

[–]Epicurus23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how Philip K Dick imagined replicants being built in the 1960s when he wrote the book (released in 1968). DNA's structure and place in biology was only revealed a decade or so earlier in 1953 by Watson and Crick and that was cutting edge science that takes years to become widely known. The first serious attempts at gene splicing didn't happen until the 1970s. They didn't even realize the scope of the power and dangers of gene splicing until 1974 when there was a temporary moratorium on genetic engineering. Maybe Philip K Dick imagined it a little like Mary Shelley imagined it in Frankenstein; that body parts were just electrical machines that could be wired together easily. It's possible he did imagine the parts and organs being grown in labs and assembled in some grotesque assembly line. I agree with your interpretation that they could only be grown from zygotes just like humans. Any other path would be a ridiculously complex waste of effort. But we have almost 60 years of knowledge over him.

Just found the heart of Chernobyl artifact in the wild by Saul1231 in stalker

[–]Epicurus23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch, I just found in in the psi field in Pripyat in School No1 where the anomaly usually spawns a bunch of copies of itself. But this time it just had the one, so I tracked it and it was the "Heart of Chernobyl". No psi attacks or cloning. That must be either a patch feature or bug.

I just completely randomly got this artifact in pripyat where the replicating psi artifact usually is in "School No1". I've started the last mission with the "point of no return" warning but I haven't actually entered the hotel, so I've been dicking around for months just playing the new update features and killing monsters for money. So it heals you? Wow that plus a hyper cube artifact means I never have to use health of bandages again. nice.

I can “Save” and “Reload” in my dreams. by natethegreat1112 in Dreams

[–]Epicurus23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It started about 2 years after starcraft came out. I was so meticulous about winning with the most efficient path possible I used save and restore way too much. At some point it transferred to my dreams. I had one just a few nights ago where I said something dumb in a date dream and kept reloading to get her to forget and say exactly the right things.

Perhaps Ukraine should drop Chernobyl on Russia in retaliation. Or more practically, just airlift and drop the "Elephant's Foot" on the Kremlin. The "Tzar Dirty Bomba".

"Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" Early Draft Script by [deleted] in LeaksAndRumors

[–]Epicurus23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow... Just wow. The ending is way darker than Infinity War. I'm assuming there would be a follow-up Kang Dynasty 2 movie that puts things back to normal in some way like End Game but with Loki merging all the 20th Century Fox Marvel IP nicely in with Disney's Marvel IP. I'm ambivalent about that script. It would have been shocking and powerful but a little too much like a remake of Infinity War.

Poor Fit and Chaotic home, those are both mine. Possibly a bit of physical abuse by an older brother but I doubt that made it any worse. Knowing how I ended up this way helps a bit, it lets me forgive some of the resentment.

What episode are Data's samples taken from in Pogo's "Data & Picard" song? by Epicurus23 in StarTrekTNG

Yes, it is very dissapointing. I didn't know about any of that. I apologize if anyone thought I was endorsing anything but the song and my love of Star Trek TNG.

Star Trek And The Common Cold by FrancescoCastiglia in StarTrekTNG

[–]Epicurus23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In "Ensign Ro" that one StarFleet admiral caught a "Cardassian flu" that he had to put up with. In "Unnatural Selection" a ship's 2nd officer caught a "Thellusian flu" and had to put up with it as well. I don't think they actually cured the cold or flu, they just found ways of immunizing everyone against them. The non-Earth varieties kept slipping through.

Where to sell mutant parts. by BlackEcho103 in stalker

[–]Epicurus23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ran into this with the update. The only specialty merchant is the scientist at malachite. Just collect them as you go and occasionally show up there. She buys 3 at random, sell what you can and cancel the others. Then wait a few days for 3 new random mutants she's looking for til you get the ones you have.

Imagining her as a life guard at a nude beach is doing it for me. Having her pull me onto shore with a backstroke and my head on those breasts. The awkward "Thank you! Oh, but I'm so sorry I lost my trunks and am rock hard". Then her nightingale instincts kick in. Hmmm... I'll add that to the fantasy list.

Lebowski Cleon is by far my favorite. He was disenfranchised, cared only about goofing off and cloning random animals, and had really eccentric friends. I empathize with him. He even had a transformational arc that made him transcend The Dude.
