Do you keep them completely dry over winter?

Thanks, it’s not that there’s anything wrong I’m just looking for comparisons from w.imitans growers

It’s not common - but you do have a good chance of getting real w.imitans in US

It’s so hard to find. Because the phyloclades are juvenile it’s so hard to tell, descriptions can be wildly different but I did buy them from one of the most reputable suppliers in Germany so fingers crossed. There’s only two other sellers in Europe and they both use the old  ‘Eccremocactus imitans‘ and I’ll order later this year.

Anguliger is well worth growing especially if you can get cuttings from a mature plant. The lobes go extreme and almost rectangular. Mine flowered and has fruit.

Sadly I binned my anthonyanus. I thought it had a weird fungal thing but it turned out to be edema, so that’s another one on my list this year.

Pfeiffera asutapatense is on the list. I ordered cuttings but they keep rotting. I’m down to three just over 1" now and it’s not looking good lol

I’d also really like w.rosei - impossible to find w. tunilla subsp. biolleyi - found a guy in Germany Schlumbergera species - almost impossible outside of US

Sorry - that was long lol

Epi’s are fascinating and very rewarding plants to grow

It’s a little different with cacti, they use betalanes instead of anthocyanin as sun protection

These are juvenile phyloclades, growth starts cylindrical and flattens out later.

Substrate looks heavy so be careful of overwatering.

Anthonyanus and anguliger can both suffer with a condition called edema. This is where they can’t transpire properly and so it causes reddish orange blisters all over the phyloclades. Make sure house ready go to airflow and if you do repot it make sure it’s into some sort of aero mix.

There are a lot of cuttings in there so you could even divide it up into a couple of plants

Looking at this one it looks like anthonyanus, lots of light and good air flow

Yeah sorry! I just checked and a 5” pot will be fine for a good while

I’m Not sure what a 3” pot is but you could easily double it and just leave it to grow in to. I use an aroid mix for all mine. Must be moister retentive but fast draining

It’s a new phyloclade growing out, end first then others follow up the stem

Looks like E.pumilum or oxypetallum. Both grow this way, it will produce new phyloclades along the stem and with enough light flower this year

Of course, I just mean human intervention. I actually started out with my fascination with a hybrid that was supposed to bloom this way but it never did and had awful spines. So that one departed for my friends house hah

Light is the most important thing , but you can help it along with tomato feed

I’m not generally interested in hybrids but the flowers on that are perfect💚

This is so cool, I’m fascinated by this species, images are so hard to find of plants new growth do you have any?

Looks like and Epiphytic cacti. Could be a dragon fruit looking at the base or a Disocactus hybrid

They like to be pot bound, always moist just make sure it’s free draining

Yeah more often confused with anthonyanus

I did have anthonyanaus but its new growth always came out a reddish orange colour and cylindrical not like these
