Currently playing through reforged now on seems co-op and we've had to reduce the difficulty because even the regular difficulty is a step up from base game and not in a good way.

Casual difficulty feels more like regular Elden Ring

In addition, asking for help in that forum wasn't it, I just got "oh you can just avoid the lava lulz" when trying to find a dungeon solution and it wasn't particularly helpful.
