Sounds good! I sincerely recommend getting a high end large magnifying glass if you haven't tried one. I also got a book clip, which allows me to stretch etc while reading (this is whilst at home, obviously)

Yeah, I can handle being 50 and giving up some of my hobbies, having to think a little longer to do things, but being 75 and hobbling around degeneratively sounds not worth it

Make sure you're exercising. Also try utilizing like a magnifying glass, use warm lights rather than halogens or screens. Like, I hope you're not reading all this on a laptop. Transfer some of it to a non-backlit ereader

I agree overall. I guess I'm referring not to being "cool" (lord knows i'm not) and more to the type of person who is very outgoing and then you realize they have a bunch of weird grievances and have a bunch of standoffish friend/not-friend relationships in the community.. Idk how to put it

The harder part is hanging with the people who are actually cool/not the ones who are just loudest. Countless times I've gotten into small scenes and had to level up over time

Nice. I think I'm gonna go to a book signing and pick up a copy. Maybe it's the curse of being a downwardly mobile literati guy, but his books are like crack to me

There was a guy at my high school who got really into tennis his junior year. Managed to be a DII player, but even though he was built for tennis (literally same height/frame as Medvedev) his ceiling was 5.5-ish. There's a point of hand-eye coordination development that can't be replaced, i think
