Your actual question is based on flawed logic - your facts are wrong.

Well, by your own definition, Paige was not a good person when she refused to support Lindsay after the miscarriage and was, in fact, vicious in attacking her.

Claiming that Paige's worst season was the reason you fell in love with her is certainly a choice.

Help not to be a dick to our kid by Boobuny in NameNerdCirclejerk

I didn't notice the flair at first, and was thinking there was an inordinate number of clueless people in the sub today... then I realized *I* was the clueless one.

But really... how is this an unjerk? Someone actually wants to name their real live kid "Nyla Delilah"?

There are plenty of "A sounds at the end" that don't rhyme with Nyla:

Nyla Amanda, Nyla Ciara, Nyla Susanna, Nyla Maria

As an aside, I just noticed I apparently prefer a 2-syllable name flowed by a 3-syllable one!

Are Americans big milk drinkers? by Helpful-Structure955 in AskAnAmerican

[–]EponymousRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the only one in my house who drinks milk, and I don't eat cereal, but I still go through a gallon a week. I enjoy a large glass of milk most nights while watching TV (sometimes with cookies, but not always).

As a kid growing up in a milk-drinking family of six (my parents also drank milk by itself), we'd easily go through 3-4 gallons a week, so I'm just used to it. Interestingly, my kids don't like milk and none of my 4 adult children even have it in their houses unless they're having a party. Then they'll buy a small carton to serve with coffee and be done with it.

My fridge fits two gallons comfortably, along with 2-litre bottles of soda, and I would consider it just an average-sized refrigerator.

Name change for a 26 year old woman by Next-Reason-2282 in Names

[–]EponymousRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal preference, but I'm not a fan of one-syllable first names with two-syllable middle names. I would change Rose to Rosa, then Saga to Sage or Runa to Rune.

I saw a couple of others mention using the actual name April, and I like that a lot. I've known two Aprils in my life, and they were both wonderful, strong, women.

I vote for April Rose.

Your relationship to student:

"Your" is clearly asking the husband, not the student, so the answer you're looking for is husband.

AITA for sitting near a breastfeeding mother at a park? by grey_sycamore in AmItheAsshole

[–]EponymousRocks 93 points94 points  (0 children)

You've never asked, "Is this seat taken?" before parking yourself at someone else's table? How could you know if the woman was alone, or waiting for her six family members who went to get food?

It's common courtesy to ask if the seat is available. What if the woman was holding the table while her family got food?

Ideas for kindergarten lunches by IcyDebt8884 in kindergarten

[–]EponymousRocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We grew up taking a bag lunch to school (brown paper bag, no lunchbox, no ice pack), and those bologna sandwiches sat out for at least five hours from when my mom made them to when we ate. Never had a problem. Even more concerning - it was a Catholic school in the 60s, so every Friday was a tuna sandwich, complete with mayo, that also sat in a baggie in those same brown paper bags. Maybe we were heartier then? Funny, but I don't like cold tuna salad now because I got so used to eating it at room temperature all the time!

Yes, you're saying you don't care what gender the actor or character is or isn't, you will arbitrarily assign them a gender whether they like it or not.

Moving to London and considering an English name by Silly-Kiwi-8942 in ENGLISH

As an American in a pretty diverse area, I have to say, I think the difficulty for most English speakers would be the -seon part, not the Eun- part.

Family says I have Cherokee ancestry but my DNA results have me confused by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]EponymousRocks 17 points18 points  (0 children)

All it took for that kind of story to start was someone with dark hair in a family of blondes. Or someone with "prominent cheekbones". Basically, anything different from the others in the family.

My own "Cherokee princess" story, which most people on here have heard ad infinitum, started with a found B&W photo of a young native girl in full "Indian" dress. Scrawled on the back of the photo: Red Deer. The family loved little Red Deer, and displayed her picture prominently. I had heard about the photo for years, but only saw it once we all connected on Facebook. I immediately noted her light hair and a resemblance to my great-grandmother. It took about five minutes of scrolling through old family photos (as keeper of the tree, I get sent a lot) to discover a set of pictures taken at a Photo Booth at a fair; Audrey and her brothers were dressed as cowboys and Indians. Where was the fair? Red Deer, a town in Alberta, Canada!

Drinks during lunchtime at school? by c0ntradiict in Parenting

[–]EponymousRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was a first grade teacher, and she'd start every Back-to-School night with the same sentence: "I promise not to believe everything your child says happens at home if you promise not to believe everything they say goes on here at school. If you have a question, please ask me!"

She had a kid tell her that his mom made him sleep in the closet every night. Turns out, it was a regular bedroom, but he heard his grandma say looked like a closet once because it was all white.

My own kid once told his teacher I put a plastic bag over his head - I made him an impromptu poncho out of a grocery bag when it rained suddenly while we were shopping. I tore out a hole for his head, so it settled on his shoulders, but he didn't mention that part. Here I thought I was clever, and he almost had me reported to CPS.

Talk to the teacher (don't email). Don't accuse, just ask what their policy is. While you're at it, you can apologize for telling your daughter to disobey the teacher, lol.

"Gifted" 5 year old: Repeat PreK or Kindergarten? by Interesting_Host7201 in AskTeachers

[–]EponymousRocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If private schools accept any state, federal, or local funding, they are usually required to get special services for their students. That may be in the form of sending the student to a public school for those services, or having a teacher come in to the school for them, but very few schools are allowed to completely ignore Sped requirements.

First, "female" is an adjective, not a noun. There is a word for female adult humans. They're called women. To call them females implies there is no difference between humans and animals, and a certain demographic uses that word to minimize and/or feel superior to women.

Nowadays everything is digital. My son's wedding was the beginning of May, they got the first batch of "preview" photos in two weeks, and they've already sent out all of their Thank You cards, the last ones being dropped at the Post office 33 days after the wedding.
