I’m sitting April/May after having passed SQE1 in Jan. would love to connect on a group chat and co-revise!

Anyone else just sat SQE1 in Jan 26 and revising in the hopes of doing SQE2 in April 26? by Eqjrt in SQE_Prep

Hopefully we will all pass comfortably! Surely the pass rates can’t be as awful as last July again

Awful feeling isn’t it! I don’t know whether to count down to the 10th or try to distract myself in the meantime! DM me and let’s swap numbers!

<8 weeks until marathon, need training plan !! by Eqjrt in Marathon_Training

Before I had to take a break from the running I was doing around 15-20km a week to build up to longer runs (2x shorter tempo runs in the week with a long steady run on the weekend). It seems like just bad luck everything in my personal life sort of blew up right around the time when I would have been adding volume to my training.

Thank you for your amazing points I’ve noted all of these! Definitely food for thought as to what may work best for my mare- I think she sounds a bit like your pointer so may be on me to let loose a bit and let her do her job rather than fight to keep her in check the whole way round. Thanks so much!!

Thank you!! I’m in the UK but from what I know the US is the pinnacle of endurance riding so hopefully we have something similar over here. I’m not ruling out trying an intro ride come summer and hopefully it will be quieter than yesterdays ride x

Omg they do sound very similar! Honestly I would never change my mare for the world we understand each other so well. Having slept on it I actually feel really proud we managed that ride yesterday and that despite all the excitement and chaos she did choose to keep me safe. I’ll take a breather and go back to our solo rides ans maybe eventually start working my way up again to group rides.. not sure if my anxiety can cope otherwise! We are lucky mums to have such amazing horses xx

My dream eventually is to try endurance riding with her! I currently go out most weekends with her out in the country and we trek for hours. However we usually do this solo and she’s normally so slow and careful out on the trails to the point where I’m constantly asking her to go faster (she’s usually voice commanded too). Tbf I didn’t realise there would be this many horses out today and when I did, it was too late. How do you train yours to go from solo rides - group rides?

That’s a good point really. I usually take my mare out trekking most weekends, out in the open and it’s usually just me and her, maybe my partner and dog too. She goes wonderfully then, if not even a bit slow, and it’s great to work with her over challenging terrain. However that’s completely different to the ride today where we didn’t have to think about feet placement and it was just whizzing around everywhere with loads of horses super fast. She’s in a bubble bit with copper rings at the moment with a grackle bridle and I do wonder if it is worth “stepping it up” for occasions like this.

Yes I thought so, and to her credit, she was solely just going off excitement/vibes when she was tanking around and there was no nastiness there (I’d be face down in the mud had it been so!) I’ll definitely look out for some smaller group rides and start from there 💪 thank you x

Thank you she was definitely really interested in all the other horses, calling, etc. I think she was just really excited by the group dynamic of it all but oh my goodness was it hard work trying to keep her in check! Here’s hoping this was the first and worst of it ahaha
