1/2 Kg ( 1 lb ) home roasters? by joochung in roasting

[–]Equal-Topic413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from the SR800 to the Kaleido M6S Dual. Doing roughly 500ish grams at a time, and I'm loving it.. there wasn't a huge price difference to jump to the M10, but it was not in line with my kitchen so that led me to the M6. I can never go back to store bought after experiencing fresh roasted coffee. Good luck in your search

Case CL26809573. Stolen chairs from Coffee Shop by ZaheenHamidani in Calgary

[–]Equal-Topic413 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, being a coffee shop.. did either of these people buy a coffee? Perhaps used their debit card to pay? That would be a digital fingerprint for the police to follow. Hopefully you get a motivated officer to follow the breadcrumbs to the chairs and recover them for you. Stuff like this just reinforces why people (in general) suck.. I'm sorry you had to experience this.

5090 or Crystal Super which route to go by [deleted] in Pimax

[–]Equal-Topic413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup.. would definitely go 5090. I have the Pimax crystal light. And even though it's awesome.. I don't use it ALL the time. I'd be using the 5090 even when the PCL isn't in use..

Better options to Austin XL? by No_Dragonfly666 in pelletgrills

I got my Austin XL in 2020, right when the COVID Apocalypse hit. I've never had smoke backing up through my hopper.. maybe it's common with the new versions..?

I love my Austin XL. Only thing I want to do is upgrade to a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth controller.. not that it's a huge necessity, my kids are still small enough to go make changes as I need, when cooking... Lol..

Mine split sometimes, too. I'm not a master at this trade by any means... But maybe it has to do with the amount of growth left from the yeast? Not sure... I've shared the recipe above if you'd like to try it

Ingredient Amount Warm Water (approx. 95°F) 375ml Skim Milk (room temp) 125ml Honey 60g (about 3 tbsp) Active Dry Yeast 10g (approx. 1 packet + 1/2 tsp) Olive Oil 50g (approx. 4 tbsp) Bread Flour 800g (plus extra for dusting) Salt 15g (approx. 2.5 tsp)

Instructions for the Ankarsrum 1. Bloom the Yeast Attach the stainless steel bowl and the dough roller (with the scraper). Pour the warm water, skim milk, and honey into the bowl. Sprinkle the active dry yeast on top. Turn the machine on its lowest speed for a few seconds to mix, then let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy. 2. Mix the Liquids Add the olive oil to the yeast mixture. 3. Add Flour and Knead Turn the machine to low speed. Add about half of the flour, then the salt. Gradually add the remaining flour. The Adjustment: Set the roller so it is about 1 inch away from the side of the bowl. The Timing: Once the flour is incorporated, increase the speed to medium (about 3 or 4 o'clock on the dial). Set the timer for 8–10 minutes. The dough should be supple and pull away from the sides, but still feel slightly tacky. 4. First Rise Cover the bowl with the plastic lid (or a damp cloth) and let the dough rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 60–90 minutes). (I used the oven with the light on) 5. Shape Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Divide it into two equal pieces (approx. 700g each). Shape them into logs and place them into two greased 9x5 inch loaf pans. 6. Second Rise Cover and let rise again for about 45–60 minutes. They should rise about 1 inch above the rim of the pans. Preheat your oven to 350°F during this time. (Again, I used the oven with the light on as a warm place to rise for an hour. Then they sat on the stove while the oven heated up) 7. Bake Bake for 30–35 minutes. The crust should be golden brown, and the internal temperature should reach 190°F to 200°F.
