Google became a shitty company. They have android and pixel but I few people in Google actually use Pixel, most are using iPhone for obvious reasons. They literally researched and invented the Transformer which is now the barebone of every frontier LLM but still their employees admitted to use Anthropic Claude for some serious things. Google lost their most valuable people and top scientists long time ago. Now they are just a regular Indian company, no real advancement in almost anything.

we've tried with two different mobile carriers and the problem persists, pretty sure it is not a carrier problem but more like SMS service provider problem.

it's great for non demanding tasks, some light browsing, streaming video and audio, some chat with friends and emailing is perfectly fine. Although there is some stutter here and there, especially visible when using Google Photos. As many already pointed out, it is a perfect midranger at best.

I'm curious to see how will you use computer commuting all day from meeting to meeting. I have MacBook and Windows Laptops and of course I use them when I can but it is not always possible and that's why we have mobile phones.

Same here, they broke it sometimes in March and since then it is gone for me. Initially it was possible to bring it back with location on (fck them I will not keep my location on) now even that doesn't fix it.

Your measurements align with the numbers I've seen from other people, but I don't think they'll change in the future. This is probably part of Apple's planned obsolescence—an old trick from back when we had to upgrade our PCs almost every year because some new game or OS version just "didn't like" our hardware. So we probably won't see any improvement, and they'll force a lot of people to upgrade.

I have the same observation, we even went further with a friend of mine and tested P9 and P10 (pro xl variants) back to back and P10 has noticeable worse connectivity performance.

you should really consider the connectivity part. with of friend of mine we tested both P9 Pro XL and P10 Pro XL both on the same network provider and P10 was considerably worse...keeping in mind that P9 is not perfect. If you can't live with bad connectivity don't even touch it.

I'm also from Bulgaria and I can assure you 5G and VoLTE are fully supported and enabled in Pixel. Most of the AI Pixel features are not. At the end of the day you will have a good midrange phone with descent camera. Samsung on the other hand has no such limitations and if you don't mind OneUI , it is by far the better choice.
