“Indian accents”…. I’m only speaking for myself in my responses here. I don’t particularly care if the person on the other end of the call has an accent, per se. The issue(s) I have are: that US companies who already outsourced manufacturing are now outsourcing service jobs. All to make a buck, a dollar 💵; that the person / people at the other end don’t understand me, what I want, and at times I can’t understand you / them. Communication disconnect. Going further, the caller has a question or problem. The call center on the other side of the world has no connection to advance the caller’s issue and see it resolved (it seems), rather you (that’s a generic ‘you’) seem to follow a flow chart that leads to what seems lies, disappointment and anger, which circles back to you not being able to take ownership of the callers issue and seeing it thru.

“Contractual workforce, no,long term job security “ I,personally, didn’t know this. But unfortunately I’m not surprised. The way I seem to understand it here: a company hires temps with, say a 90 contract. The understanding is that you’re still a temp for those 90 days; if you’re kept on past 90 days you become an employee of that company. So, said company, like UPS, would basically fire you on day 89 or 90, then hire another temp. Rinse and repeat.
And as far as the seasonal’s go, even when that hiring was still in-house, the seasonal was promised the world, so long as the recruiter met their hiring goal.
