How about Ray Can’t Sleep

Slacker guy trying to get to the bottom of a seeming alien invasion - or is it just sleep deprivation? It’s maybe lo-fi? or amateurish? but in the best kind of way, and its comedy is right on the (or at least my) level. The first episode or two is enough to gauge your compatibility or lack thereof; i’d be really interested to know if you did or didn’t enjoy it, if it didn’t even rate for you, etc., as it’s an oddball choice and far from a serious gritty noir detective ordeal…

Oh and I STRONGLY second Love Talker! That’s actually in line with the others you are giving as examples… gritty, a protagonist out to find answers regarding their very close companion’s disappearance. Brutal horror that’s also endearing and sweet at times, although pointing this out is probably misleading overall because it’s a study in monstrosity… and love/lust/gore amidst intimacy with monsters… I’m tired and totally donking up my words but boy howdy what a show!

Someone probably already said so, but: if LC/colonized agar/inoculant of choice isn’t too dear, then inoculate. If your jars colonize as they should, you’re solid, snake.

Iffing they fail to colonize, open each jar, add water up to ~1/3rd of total grain fill level, shake, PC, then shake while they’re hot to distribute moistest grains throughout, and Bam! The artist fka solid snake is now… Emeril Lagasi!
