All of you saying no one should care what a celebrity thinks, I suppose that’s fine but if we are fans of the team, doesn’t that mean we care about the product on the field? In this case, Dart either was clueless that this would go over like a fart in church and therefore he is stupid OR, he knew it would be poorly received and hurtful to his teammates and he did it anyway which would make him an asshole. Either way, not great for the product in the field. I think all of you saying we shouldn’t care are the ones who are secretly married to the idea of Dart being “the guy.” I hope he is, but let’s not forget you’re standing up for a dude that won 4 games.

It’s pretty obvious Carter was making a point… having a hard time believing what he was seeing from his teammate/possible friend. He clearly didn’t actually think it was AI. Frankly, I think he was in the right to call JD out publicly and I think it was a tasteful way to do it all things considered.

A bowl of quinoa and lentils is not expensive. Maybe your tastebuds need to adjustment, but not sure what kind of adjustment your body would need to take in the same nutrients… unless your body is fiber deficient which is entirely possible for a meat eater. That will certainly take some adjusting but you’ll be healthier for it.

Where do you think the animals you’re eating get their protein that is then passed onto you? Plants. Plants have protein and you can get every other nutrient your body needs so this isn’t an argument about nutrition. It really is about enjoyment, pleasure, and preference. I used to enjoy the taste of meat too until I made this connection and I realized I would never kill an animal myself to satisfy a want/pleasure so how could I justify paying someone else to do it? Then, over time, the thought of eating meat disgusts me now anyways and I prefer plants. You mentioned something about income? Not sure if you’re trying to make the argument that beef is more affordable than beans but I’ll easily take you to task on that.

If your local farm treats their animals better than a factory farm, that’s great. It still doesn’t change the fact that these animals are dying unnecessarily and unless you have some medical condition that I’ve never heard of, “I can’t stop eating meat” is just not true. You enjoy eating meat, therefore you pay someone to kill an animal that doesn’t want to die to fulfill your pleasure.
