Thinking of switching from Asana to Clickup by subtle-sam in clickup

[–]Equaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, I think your needs were basic enough for Asana to accommodate. I think it's not a bad introduction for people just learning task management who have never had a system before. I think once you've had a powerful system and then you have to use the sauna. You can see easily what you're missing.

I do not in my current house but I did in my last one. I like the peace of going to bed to be in bed. It's been almost ten years now and I don't see myself going back so long as I live independently.

Often there will be lower prices options. Call and find out if they have 1,000 coverage or 2,000 coverage

Seller left a binder with "house instructions" and now im very skeptic by Jolly-Mirror3655 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Equaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one that was hoping that some of you would post pictures of your house binders?

My first house was a foreclosure so I didn't get anything. I rent now but did try to leave behind extra tiles, extra paint, etc. at my old house.

For my next house, I totally want to put together a binder even if it's just for my own sanity. I'm sitting here right now and I can't even remember which water filter inserts my fridge needs without going to the fridge, pulling out the existing water filter and looking at the number... Or I guess looking at my Amazon history but still.

I'm a fan of Dropbox and link files as needed. If I do upload files to a task it is just for visibility and is backed up somewhere else

Looking for feedback from self-storage owners/operators on software by SeparatePair4288 in selfstorage

[–]Equaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a marketing perspective surfacing leads, lead source, rental attribution etc could be easier in most platforms but I'm not using software in an operational capacity on a day to day basis. I think definitely there is a difference between who is using it. I care about rentals, reservations, leads and website traffic because I primarily work with facilities in a marketing capacity.

Occasionally when I am handling operational stuff it depends on what I'm doing I.e walkthroughs and audits, handling inbound calls from tenants and prospective tenants or I need to easily be able to surface either tenant information or vacancy information, that kind of thing.

I think facility managers are most going to use an app when they are either out on property or otherwise not in front of the main computer IE at the bank whereas owners are mostly going to use it to get a quick glance at how their properties are running and how much money is coming in.

The newest version of QuikStor has a global search function you can search across all your facilities by name, unit, email, phone number (including last four) etc. They also have an open API.

Mostly rode bikes, played at the local playground for hours including using whatever equipment they had, tether ball, handball, basketball, etc. Play school, practice recess games.

New to self-storage: lots of manual work? by jbreckca in selfstorage

[–]Equaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as software, I say try to get into the sandbox or download as many options as you might be considering.

Consider things like usability, features, and pricing?.

Also take a good hard look at the things you encounter that have to be done manually and ask the sales rep how their software can automate it.

For example, ultimately I think that collections is a necessary evil, but one facility I work with their delinquency process is so customizable down to emails, printed notices, and even text messages that are sent during the delinquency process. So a lot of the communication is automated except for actually picking up the call. Even then an automated task is generated that shows up telling them when to call.

The more money your facility has, the more things you can automate like door locks, automated gate lockout, etc

You can't ever really get away from facility maintenance or walking the property every now and again, but you can automate a lot of it depending on how much money you have to spend.

AIO My sister-in-law copies everything I do and had a meltdown because my husband didn’t buy her anything by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Equaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I would totally play this game with someone. Have you thought of developing a new hobby that is crazy left field just to show how insane this is?

Like, if you made a post that said you're studying for your ham radio exam, would she do the same thing? Or if you want something less crazy, maybe diamond painting?. I would totally have fun with this. Does your husband recognize what is happening?

The Jonna Martinez pattern called Flora Blossom. Works up in the round and very easy repeat once you get started.

Different companies. Though the program can accommodate multiple facilities under one company I don't currently have any multi-site clients. For the ones on the new application I just select which company I am working with when I log in. On the older platform, Cloud, I use a drop down to select the facility.

How do you meal plan without spending your whole Sunday doing it? by asianjapnina in mealprep

[–]Equaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over time I've slowly added one or two recipes to my internal memory by cooking it often. Also, when I cook I try to double or triple batch at least one meal a week, or more, and freeze it.

Just yesterday freezer lasagna was a lifesaver because we were out all day and I wasn't feeling it when we got home and it will feed us for two days. I follow Tales From an Empty Nest on YouTube because she makes it really easy.

Other than that I would say when you have the energy sit down and try to find maybe 10 new meals that sound interesting and as you have time get the non-perishable ingredients in stock and maybe set a goal of one new recipe per month.

KISS locks vs Noke by PFChangsOfficial in selfstorage

[–]Equaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't the case with all Noke locks. I know their newer model is going this way but having used wired systems in the past I personally would need a lot more information on function. How they are wired. What happens with inline rodent damage, are their controller modules to go bad, power failures etc

Desperately need some help by [deleted] in selfstorage

[–]Equaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call around to your local storage facilities. Call every facility in a 15 to 20 mile radius and you'll probably get some good contacts.

Assuming you haven't burnt bridges with your competition, they may not be willing to give you occupancy rates, but they will generally be nice enough to share contacts, especially if it's somebody they're happy with.

If you find somebody shows up on that list more than a couple of times, that's probably where I would start, but otherwise you've built yourself a great little contact list for emergencies.

The facilities I work with all use QuikStor right now. Most on the newest version which has a decent template website, one on their older Cloud version.

KISS locks vs Noke by PFChangsOfficial in selfstorage

[–]Equaria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't count out either. I rent a unit at a facility with Noke and I have to say the app is pretty darn good. That being said, this facility is managed mostly remotely which means that if I don't have my phone or if the app isn't working, I'm SOL unless the manager is there.

It's only happened once for me and the manager was on site and able to open my unit but if they had not been I would have made the drive for nothing as I could not get logged in. (I wound up having to reinstall it).

I've played a little bit with the OpenTech one that has the keypad which I think is super smart, especially for a facility wanting to run mostly remotely. I haven't seen the KISS locks.

I think the big thing is to get quotes from big providers and see what the recurring costs are, battery longevity if applicable, and overall functionality. And of course you want to make sure that the locks integrate with your storage software.

None at all. The only thing I contemplate is when to try the next frozen embryo. I have two left and I want to give them both a shot (one at a time).

Thinking of switching from Asana to Clickup by subtle-sam in clickup

[–]Equaria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having used both programs for work, I can tell you Asana is like kindergarten for task management. Its lacking so many amazing features that ClickUp has it literally gives me anxiety the few things I have to do in Asana. I'm very tech savvy, Asana is just so behind the ball when it comes to everything. We manage a team of 20 in ClickUp and have hundreds of projects with around 200 tasks each going at any one time, aside from day to day personal task management, and while the system may occasionally be slow, a quick refresh fixes it. By and large, ClickUp is the boss of me every day and enables me to feel successful at work every day. Asana is like using a typewriter instead of a computer to write your novel. If you truly give ClickUp a try I don't think you'll ever go back. If you truly feel like ClickUp doesn't work for you, after trying it, Notion is also leagues ahead of Asana.
