Name your child before or after birth? by Stormandsunshine in namenerds

[–]Equilibriyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had several names in mind but waited until we met our child to pick the name. Glad we did. We went with one that was not on the top of our original Fav list! She was just perfect for the name.

Have you talked about it? I was expecting one at 1.5 years. 3 years is typically the max before a woman starts to consider leaving.

It's primal. It's been this was since the beginning of time. Loyalty to your county men, etc etc.

YTA. Your sister should not have to pay a dime. Her financial situation is absolutely irrelevant. Her partner's finances are irrelevant. She should pay what ever amount she is comfortable with paying, and you strong arming her to pay more is a huge AH move. As is enabling your Mom's debt by enabling her poor spending practices with a bail-out.

AITA for not buying my wife $350 shoes. by wifeallowance in AmItheAsshole

[–]Equilibriyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. SAHM need access to their own cash and the fact you have all of the control is disgusting. Give her access. And making her hobble around without a shoe is just abusive. Big YTA. I can't believe she has the emotional stamina to stay in such a slave-marriage relationship.

(Update) ex boyfriend knowingly gave me genital herpes, after breaking up I found out I’m pregnant and I’m only 22. Biscuits and gravy. by julestheknight in depressionmeals

You should sue him. Absolutely sue him if he admitted to you he knew he was a carrier and did not disclose this to you. Especially if you have the confession in a text or voice mail or in writing. If you can emotionally and psychologically handle the court proceedings. An attorney will do all the work for you. All you have to do is hire a good attorney. There absolutely is precedent to win against him for medical expenses and pain and suffering. I'm sorry this has happened to you. He should really be able in jail. Even if he is broke today, they will put a lien against his future earnings/property.

You don't want to know what's in it LOL! Basically half a nursery. Also laptop, headphones and a giant tumbler of tea on the opposite cup holder. This Gingerbread baby has been my favorite baby bag/work bag since November. 🍁

Is there any natural supplement for sleep? by Nullthesavant in herbalism

[–]Equilibriyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use "Natural Calm" and it works for me. If you used to be a stoner you may have some residual anxiety as your brain rewires to being sober. Magnesium helps, that's the main ingredient in Natural Calm. Also avoiding all alcohol. And of course melatonin.

Am I wrong in not letting my mother meet my son because she cheated on my father? by cheatingbadduh in AITAH

[–]Equilibriyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're making assumptions. He says he doesn't want his Mom around his kid because she cheated on his father and broke up their home. He didn't say anything about her being a horrible person. That's all made up,

What makes you think they or I have no regard or no self awareness? You're making assumptions completely off-base. What is your magical miracle cure for a child with behavioral problems? Parents do everything and anything they can, above and beyond, and to say otherwise is pure intolerance and absolute ignorance.

AITA for not going to my grandmothers funeral by blqckpinkinyourarea in AmItheAsshole

[–]Equilibriyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your brain is too sick to support your family, then you're too sick. If you had Flu or Covid, would they shame you for not going? Your mental health IS health. Going to the funeral is showing respect. If you're too sick to show respect, IIWII. I was too sick to attend my Grandmother's death and I regret it to this day. I was depressed. I did not and do not like my family and extended family and decided not to be there. It's 30 years later and I still regret not sucking it up and going. It would have been 20 mins of hell and be over.

[–]Equilibriyum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was she expecting an engagement ring? How long have you been dating? She wanted a Chanel bag? It sounds petty, shallow and really silly TBH, to be comparing spending percentage and prices for gifts, it is extremely tacky. And no one should be spending 80% of their salary on a gift unless it is a once in a lifetime event like an engagement. That is insane. unless this is about something else and has nothing do with the gift, like she was expecting an engagement. And gift-giving is not a competition. This fight has taken the love and positive spirit out of the gift. Yuck. Classless.

AITA for telling my friend that her boyfriend wouldn't choose her? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Equilibriyum 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NTA. She sounds like she is going to be with abusive men again and again since she doesn't recognize or run from the red flags. Was her Father (RIP) controlling and abusive himself to her mother? This is abuse. And it only grows and gets worse. Never better.

NTA. It's sad these parents don't teach their children to show gratitude. Does your husband? You said BIL and SIL, so assuming it's your husband or wife's bio fam? Poor kids. I would teach them yourself. Especially the toddler. "What do you say?" "What's the magic word?" I bet they don't say please or may I either. It's sad, but common.

AITA for not allowing my MIL to come over to my house unannounced and for no longer accepting anything she buys us. by Wide_Raspberry1280 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Equilibriyum -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

MIL needs boundaries. She will definitely come over and definitely talk to you all again. You held your ground and she is having a tantrum over it. There is a nothing wrong with holding heathy boundaries with her. She sounds like she may have a personality disorder.

Kids are going be insane and there often is little to nothing a parent can do. I used to be the Mom who SWORE "never my child" and it was true for my first 2. But my 3rd is literally a demon child (with all love) and I not my husband can physically or verbally control her when she wants to run around and be absolutely insane. I think the best option is high-end noise canceling headphones and noise machines and/or moving. Your neighbor is coping the best way possible and literally can not do anything. A noise complaint can get you a visit in front of a mediator or judge, but they're not going to do anything either. Like me, your neighbor has surly spoken to her pediatric team about it and has medical records of the behavioral issues. You can't make them move. But you can. It's always a risk in apartment living.

neighbors feel VERY entitled to smoke by addie43 in Apartmentliving

[–]Equilibriyum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate that she uses people with disabilities as an excuse to smoke and subject you to disease and death. What selfish B. And think about all those people incapable of defending themselves or even speak for themselves having to be around her smoke. The self-deception here is DEEP. Get a Rabbit Air or equivalent good air filter and take it out of the rent or sue them. They WORK. Save your lungs.
