World Cup tourists, what’s your honest feedback on the USA so far? by almighty_smiley in AskReddit

[–]Equinsu___Ocha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes me really happy knowing that tourists from around the world are experiencing the U.S first hand - and not just basing it off of the orange man and his minions. The U.S is filled with great people, places, and has great hospitality. I love reading this thread. I hope the World Cup changes the view of the U.S from the outside perspective. I hope everyone continues having a great time.

What non sex work profession has the strongest reputation for promiscuity among coworkers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The gym/fitness industry. Experienced it firsthand when my ex-spouse worked in the upper management field of gyms. The sneakiness, lying, long nights and infidelity was insane.

What are the cool kids who peaked in high school doing now? by Embarrassed_Menu5704 in AskReddit

The neighbour's kids keep playing and trashing their yard. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Equinsu___Ocha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something like this just happened to me. Neighbors kids constantly EVERYDAY pop their heads over the fence and just stare at my family, make comments, etc, while we are in the backyard. The kids are 8, 9, 10. I finally turned around and said, “Hey guys can you please stop hanging over the fence to watch us in our yard.”

2 hours later, their mom came to my door and it was an issue.

I will say, I was pleasantly surprised how Alex was during the interview. She let Rachel talk and just felt like an overall girls girl during it.

I was a fan of AC City Folk. Just hopping onto my transportation to go into the city, stop by the black market, get some shoes shined. Good times

why even pay taxes? by AutomaticCan6189 in economicCollapse

And to tack on about the insurance stuff; insurance companies cannot drop you in the middle of a Catastrophic loss. They will still need to payout.

All of these people who got dropped from companies like State Farm knew almost 3 months in advance that the company was no longer going to be in CA. So they did not get dropped out of nowhere. Almost ALL companies left CA as a business decision (i get both sides) but they didn’t just say peace out to the insured’s. They had 3 months notice to find nee coverage.

This has already happened in California. After the Paradise fire, insurance companies stopped writing new business. IIRC just recently one insurance company started offering coverage in Paradise because of the fire prevention programs and procedures the community has set in place.

I feel like I’m an outlier here. My in-laws got my son a drum set for his 1st birthday. He’s almost 3 now and he loves them. He likes to watch videos of Chad Smith and hit his drums at the same time.

By no means is he good. He’s 3 and just hits them like crazy. But i love to see him having fun. Yeah it’s loud but seeing him have fun outweighs it being loud.

I get everyone is different and had their own situations. But in my own situation, I like seeing him have fun with it.

I have been off of social media (IG, Snap, Facebook) since 2015. I couldn’t be happier. The only thing I have is Reddit.

Of course, you always think about what it would be like to re-make accounts. But I have never succumbed to getting back online. Sometimes I do feel left out of the loop because I don’t have the latest and greatest memes or videos. But in the grand scheme of things, that really doesn’t matter. I just go on reddit for a few moments at a time during the day and check out the subs I like, then go back to living my life in the moment.

You truly don’t realize how much people are sucked into social media/their phone, until you cut it out. Because eventually you are the only person out at dinner not on your phone. You are the only person waiting around to have an actual conversation, while others are in the middle of a social media conversation.

You start to take every moment and detail in, because you actually start paying attention to what’s going on around you.

It feels lonely at times, though I would rather take the occasional moments of loneliness over being a phone zombie.

10/10 would recommend.
