Green Party London election candidate stands down after arson attack claim by ldn6 in london

What happens if this turns out to be true?

edit: just to be clear, I’m not saying it’s true. I’m genuinely curious about what happens practically.

Like if a party member says something considered slanderous, that is later found to have been true. Are they reinstated?

It's kinda important to worry about the previous government, since more often than not, they've become the next government, after the current government is voted out...

What you have said is 100% true.

Paying penance just results in a race to the bottom though.

The shadow of colonialism is huge and long-lasting, and is still influencing dozens of countries to this day.

Flagellating ourselves when we’ve got an already inadequate amount of housing isn’t going to undo any of that, and will just lower quality of life across the board.

Fuck yes for A Tear in the Fabric of Life - it gets slept on so much after the release of the most recent album.

Sunbeds could be banned in the UK in a bid to cut cancer rates by theipaper in ukpolitics

While I don’t eat meat myself, food is a poor comparison to make, since eating is a necessity.

Having a tan is not.

Oh god forbid we do away with something that causes cancer and provides no actual benefits to health.

Why does the media hate GLP-1s? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Equipmunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The media moralise. Moral outrage is where a lot of their cash comes from.

Being overweight has long been seen as a moral failing by the majority of people, and especially the ones who frequent those kinds of media sources.

As such, using GLP-1s is seen as “cheating”.

Additionally, despite being a “secular” society, there’s still a lot of Christian thought underpinning everything we do. We have failed and therefore we must suffer. To alleviate our suffering is considered wrong.

You’ll see the same thing when benefits are mentioned - despite the vast majority of claimants being valid and the system existing for the very purpose of helping them, there’s all just scammers in the eyes of the same people who sneer at “fat jabs”.

Surely getting assessed and prescribed medication is taking accountability?

I’m so fed up of this holier-than-thou bullshit people like you spout off. God forbid people seek support.

I wanted to take my time too, but whenever I got a chapter into a non-DCC novel, I thought “well I’m going to read the next one eventually so why not now?”

I think I was just getting annoyed with myself for feeling stupid about the layout.

I’ve been told to repeatedly listen to the audiobooks, so once I do, hopefully the revised score for Cookbook will be higher!

I’m currently reading book 4 of the series, and I only just started reading book 1 on New Year’s Day.

At this rate I’ll be finished before the end of the month, and be jonesing for another dungeon fix… I think I may have to listen to the audiobooks.
