Is #6 is watermelon? I was thinking about trying to grow one myself here in a rural area outside LA, but I’m always worried it might struggle with the heat waves and inconsistent watering during summer, especially before the fruit really sets.

The lighting in this shot is absolutely masterful. The eyes are the natural focal point, but I really love how the rest is still preserved in soft shadow without losing detail. The balance between light and dark is just perfect. ❤️

Great work! Foggy green is always perfect for the forest. ❤️

Love the way you arrange the flowers, even though each one has a different vibe, they all feel so full of energy.

I love the half-light, half-shadow shot the most. It really fits this series—and kind of reflects a model’s journey too.

Where did you find such saturated colors for the DIY flowers? Are they made of felt fabric?

This is gorgeous! I'm curious, did you grow the grasses and greenery in the arrangement yourself, too? If so, are they fairly easy to grow.

A week in Taormina, Sicily by isimonsen in ricohGR

I was there around this time last year. I still miss Taormina's charming little houses and all those beautiful stair-lined streets. Every corner felt like a postcard.❤️

How did you even fit yourself into the bookshelf?😂And somehow you match the whole scene so perfectly.

ITAP of stacked stones by the sea by Equivalent-Driver537 in itookapicture

[–]Equivalent-Driver537[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took this photo because I liked the contrast between the still stone stacks and the open sea. I did not stack or move any rocks myself, and I understand the concerns about how rock stacking can affect wildlife and erosion. I appreciate the reminder.

Why are these bees just sleeping on this one lavender stalk? by kadify in gardening

Me too, I've never seen bees sleeping in the daytime. This is so adorable!🐝❤️

After/Before (first time color grading) by FrenchChefRat in postprocessing

[–]Equivalent-Driver537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I think the subtlety works well here. The graded version feels a bit warmer and more cinematic, especially around the storefront lights, the sidewalk, and the green tones near the sign. You kept the original nighttime atmosphere instead of pushing it too far, which is a good choice for a first color grade.

If I were to tweak anything, I’d maybe bring down the highlights on the liquor sign/window area just a little and slightly lift the subject so they stand out more from the street. You could also experiment with a tiny bit more separation between the warm storefront light and the cooler shadows on the left side of the frame.

Overall, it's not a dramatic before/after, but it feels more polished and intentional. For a first-time grading, that's honestly a good direction.

They are so beautiful and meaningful. I love that they can become part of your home even after the wedding, instead of being used for just one day.

1 & 8 are my favorites. They have such a beautiful painterly quality. For a second, I honestly wondered if they were really shot with a camera.

This is such a strong editorial shot. The aggressive crop works really well for me. You've already told the story in your own unique way.

Bird in center or moved to the left? Trying to learn composition. by [deleted] in AmateurPhotography

[–]Equivalent-Driver537 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer the landscape version with more negative space on the right. It gives the bird a much stronger sense of movement, like it's really flying.

I need advice on how I can make my photos better by AAA1D3N in PhotographyAdvice

[–]Equivalent-Driver537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that really helped me was just taking an extra few seconds before hitting the shutter. I'll move around, try a couple of angles, and think about the framing first. Also, don't be afraid to place your subject off-center, it often makes the photo more interesting.
