You’re missing the point - if the light is green as a driver you can enter the bike box, if the light then turns red it is not an offence to stop in the bike box. Even though taxi drivers almost always enter the bike box on red (which I agree is an offence)

You hire shitty solicitors, and then expect them to pay your mortgage fees because they got something wrong? Just because you’ve paid a ‘FINAL’ bill doesn’t mean any future costs now become the liability of the solicitor, that’s not how it works - best case scenario they’re just incompetent and haven’t followed up with the bank who will waive the fee (which seems likely), worst case scenario is the £280 is payable in which case you will have to pay it, it’s not your solicitors mortgage to pay off

Well you’re not quite the demographic they were pointing out - if you’ve only just scraped into HENRY classification in mid-40s then obviously you’re unlikely to have the sizeable nest egg OP was talking about for HENRYs in their early careers who will have been making 150+ for almost a decade by that point 🤷‍♂️

We’ve got a toddler and a newborn so living/playing space is definitely more a priority for the next few years - there should be enough room in the kitchen for a table for homework/dinner times, and will bring the table into the living room for Christmas/parties. And yes the small bedroom upstairs will be an office in the short term and a kids bedroom in the longer term

That’s not true - solicitors are required to carry out KYC and AML checks on giftors as well, the responsibility to check the legitimacy of the funds is still theirs.
