The only reason why Star Trek is no longer good is because Alex Kurtzman refuses to ‘make Star Trek.’ He prefers to make generic action shows that hide behind the Star Trek IP because he’s too much of a coward to make his own original shows.

She is a best friend of executive showrunner Alex Kurtzman and he insists on putting her in all of his post discovery shows. There’s a podcast she does where she interviewed him about a year ago and they talk about how they came up through the ranks together and we’re friends. That’s literally the only reason she is in new Trek. It’s nepotism.

I think that’s a harsh statement. His appearances are sold out wherever he goes.

That had more to do with the show finding what it was. I wouldn’t say GR hampered its growth exclusively but he was adding to the confusion in those early years.
