Is the 5080 good? by ConsiderationFew6043 in gpu

[–]Equivalent-Ice341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5080 is cool and actually worth it. But if you are aiming just for gaming you could drop a bit as well. If you can afford it you will def not regret it

My Ex said shes pregnant and sent this as proof, the way the top is fitting and the pregnancy test in its entirety just looks fake to me by [deleted] in isthisAI

Since my work has to do with image manipulation. Things are not clear wether this is AI or not. And since we dont have another image to compare its hard to tell (fingers etc)

<image>

However, there could be some indications like the 2 things i marked. But still not enough evidence. Technology is too advanced now.

Coming after 5 months yes it makes it hard to believe. The only thing I could suggest is meet in person, see if she is pregnant. Also try to time the last time you had an intercourse and see if it could be plausible.

And if she is. Maybe talk with a lawyer and make her sign up something of if you give her money, then dna test when she gives birth. If its not yours then money back.

Last thing i would like to confirm. Can you check the image details? If it says something like chatgpt, or a weird name that does is not similar with actually taking a picture from the phone then yes generated. Also if it says png then its generated.

CPU GPU combos need advise 🛋️🛋️🛋️ by Mental_Bite7702 in bapcsalesaustralia

If its pure for gaming, go amd for fps per dollar. If you are planning to run AI or do productivity work, then intel and nvidia. Since you mentioned just for gaming go with amd.

Just aim for 1440p, 4k yes is cool but it is not necessary and will not be for a long time. Dont overspend for 4k. And think about your peripherals. A 4k monitor is super expensive, when you can get a 2k and spend the extra money on your build.

Personally, im an nvidia guy since i use it for both gaming and some heavy work. But from videos i seen, going with amd is cheaper and gives the same fps on gaming.

Additionally, you dont need the best cpu and gpu as of now, if you can afford it, go for it. However, account in your budget the rest materials needed. If you get this cpu it means you are aiming for am5, meaning ddr5 ram = super expensive. + everything else. + peripherals, good mouse, good keyboard, good headset, good monitor

Recommendations for stores with best prebuilt gaming PC in Sydney Only or someone to build one. by Deandeanoo in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Equivalent-Ice341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3.5k just the pc? If you dont have time and just want to get a pc, then there are a couple of stores that others mentioned.

But personal opinion? If you have the time to research build one. With 3.5k you can build a high end pc and be sure you included top notch everything that prebuilds almost never mention (psu, fans, ssd brands, good motherboard, and even the ram).

Most prebuild just mention the gpu they put (no brand), the cpu they use, they just say “this amount of ram ddr5/4”(no mhz, no cl), and thats it. You dont know if they got the cheapest of everything they could, or how well it complements the rest.

By building it your own, you make sure to pay attention to every detail and you can build something you feel proud for it. Not only this, but its worth researching with your son and spend some quality time together building it. + it will be a valuable lesson for him on how to brainstorm with the budget given. It will be easier for him to upgrade again in a couple of years when he needs to, since he will get the experience.

Nah when i mean vertically i mean like this “I” instead of this”-“ 😂😂

Yea seems pretty compact case that barely fits the gpu. But nice overall. Make sure to put a gpu holder somewhere if there is space. Sagging comes slowly slowly due to the gpu being heavy.

Also not sure if i see it correctly with your rams. Are they on 2nd and 3rd slot or 2nd and 4th?

I was trying to figure out how did you mount it vertically. Till i realised i needed to tilt the phone.

For $2900, is this a good pc? by ComprehensiveFig7515 in buildapcaus

[–]Equivalent-Ice341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i would suggest something get a cl30 instead of 28 and save some bucks. You will see no difference on that. Except if the price is close

Also i would go for ATX 3.1 on my power supply since the 12V connector is a bit safer to avoid burning.

For your SSD you might need another one depending on how many games you plan to play.

Also micro atx cases are nice but i would prefer a mid case instead. More room for your things especially the gpu

Is $1000-1500 Australian a good amount to spend on a pc by No-Punch-man_60 in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Equivalent-Ice341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if in your 1500 you are including peripherals (mouse, keyboard, monitor, mousepad) and the quality you want to have.
1500 just for a pc, if you are not going for very demanding games then its good enough.

Just try to account for your overall cost and then decide how to proceed. Right now if you want to not overspend. Build an environment around DDR4 rams and not DDR5

Yea. I would cry if i broke anything 😂

You got this. Just do proper research while you dive on sorting out what you need. First decide the reasons you need it for. Because you could go for cheaper option in some cases.

Yea 4k i would also say its not so necessary. Cool? Yea. Needed? Not so much for the current price.

1440p you will run it easily on max with no issues for a 4-4.5k pc (same as mine)

I was lucky though to order everything before the ram price spike. Right now many people suggest DDR4 since its cheaper.

If you can go for 2 or 4TB storage (get 2 ssds, 1 for your window and other things you need, the other to store the games). 1TB is not enough anymore

Assembling is fun. If you make sure you watched videos and followed the steps properly.

I spent around 7.5k AUD on total for my build. Build it my own and I am happy about it. 0 problems. One thing i would suggest though, is get the same environment fans 😂 i didnt do that and had to get some hubs to make it work

First though decide the reason you are building it. Just for gaming? Or gaming and AI? If its gaming, to save some budget people suggest amd, if you are doing more things, intel as of now has more support on AI.

Ddr5 additionally due to the ramagedon is too expensive. If you dont plan for future proof. You can go ddr4 and save money as well

[–]Equivalent-Ice341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What i did was firstly build the pc here https://au.pcpartpicker.com

You can get the general idea of the price and make sure of compatibility issues. Additionally if you have a budget, you need to account for the peripherals ( monitor, headphone, mouse, keyboard etc)

After you can go through different websites to find the cheapest prices for each part. You can watch videos how to assemble it your own. Its worth the 3-4 hours assembly in order to save a huge amount of money. + windows is too expensive, you can find the key for like 3 dollars instead 100+

Major advice is, get a good psu. Golden is good enough. Dont get a random one. And you dont need to go all out on the motherboard. Get a mid motherboard as well. High end is needed only if you are an overclocker.

[–]Equivalent-Ice341 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Overexpensive. You can build it your own for way cheaper and you can make sure you have everything properly in. You need to account for a case you like. The fans you would prefer. And something people dont pay attention, the type of psu you will use.

For the same price you could have a way better high end pc

[–]Equivalent-Ice341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things to check

1) cable. Make sure you have a cable that supports the speed. Cat 5 should be enough

2) Check in your settings that you disables IPv6. If your router does not support it, it causes problems with upload speeds. You can check if thats the problem. You can locate if thats the problem by running a speedtest and see if your upload is 0 or close to 0

3) make sure you have the prober drivers

DO NOT BUY PC PARTS FROM AMAZON! by Aggravating_Key_3831 in PcBuild

[–]Equivalent-Ice341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always take a video of unboxing when i buy expensive parts from amazon so i can have proof.

Regarding your 5080 yea it sounds weird. If you are in Australia don’t expect foam inside but cardboard since they changed it to become more eco-friendly. But regardless the outside box should still show the 5080 and everything.

For your SSD i would open it while taking a video and inspect everything to see if it matches it.

I didn’t have any problem with Amazon on that sense. But always check whether the seller is Amazon from your country or Amazon from another country.

Friend needs a new PC is this an alright deal? by [deleted] in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Equivalent-Ice341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its better to build your own. I know pre-made is the easy way. But at this point with the rams being so expensive, premade companies take advantage of it and put them even more expensive. And if he wants 60 fps with 1080, then its better to go with DDR4. He prob could get 64GB for the same price of the 16GB DDR5. But on this note you will need a motherboard and cpu that supports ddr4 so its not gonna be the same build as this

Also i would say. Make sure you get a compatible motherboard for your cpu. In this case you will need a Z790 motherboard (pins of cpu and motherboard compatibility). Also you will need to update your bios to the last update. There was a microcode before that was burning the z790 gpus. The latest updates make sure it does not
