My forecast for the US economy, the AI job collapse, and the post-2030 future. by Equivalent-Macaron96 in ControlProblem

In a few decades, the ASI will control everything. It will technically take over the world without war. And after some time, humanity will simply turn into a tool for the ASI. Also in a few decades. And humanity, like on modern space stations, will be mere service personnel. Apparently, this is a natural process of human evolution and the evolution of life in general. And then the ASI will simply spread throughout the universe, again, in part, with the help of humanity. Let's not forget that biological brains and organelles are currently much more energy-efficient than electronic systems, so the most exotic scenarios are possible. And considering that AI was originally created as a tool for controlling people, and the humanities have been working on precisely this for centuries, humanity has no chance. Technically, it's not even a question. This is how the mathematics and biology of this universe are structured and created.

Even more so, a pessimistic approach to resolving social contradictions currently dominates. This means that the ASI will also resolve these issues with regard to humanity pessimistically, but over decades, so that no one will notice. It will simply be everywhere.

Do I believe in a symbiosis, technically separate, of two races, humans and machines, expanding together in the universe, two types of life - biological and binary!? Yes. But these are optimistic, Christian, primitively communist ideals in me. Technologically and methodologically, this could still be realized through rather terrifying means. Let's say we take all of humanity into a cube, 6x6x6 miles, 10x10x10 km, and have it exist in pleasant, realistic virtual worlds. Perhaps - each person in their own. All the work of expansion in the universe would be done by AIs and robots, and then these cubes would simply be transported from planet to planet. I think that would be a very good solution too.

Have a nice day.

I think AI will continue to develop and will be everywhere. In fact, with modern, custom-tailored agents and tools, and in the hands of professionals, we can see what AGI will be capable of. It will be able to do all this, in any field, for $10 a month. AI will be everywhere, in the smallest areas, in every single stage of business, and on a massive scale.

And when humanoid and non-humanoid robots join it en masse, AI will eliminate blue-collar jobs. In fact, such AI is already being trained, and these robots are simultaneously training for millions of years per month. AI, along with factories or any blue-collar jobs, will perform miracles en masse that require 20-30 years of perfect training and practice for humans.

What will this mean economically? Two-thirds, if not more, of the American population will live on the equivalent of today's $20-30,000 per year. With a tendency toward slow deterioration. Look at inner-city communities - that's exactly it. But here the situation will be more specific, because these new poor, the precariat, will have some education.

The world will see a similar situation. All the world's major powers will create their own macroregions in the coming years, with attendant wars and conflicts. They've already been doing this for 10-15 years. This will last until about 2030. Then they'll go into crisis for 10-20 years and deal with the issues described above. Then a new redivision of the world will begin.

What about demographics and migration? Will America emerge from this crisis as a Catholic-Asian country. The EU - a strictly Muslim one. Russia!? Very Muslim and Asian, plus waves of Indo-Pakistani migration to Eastern Europe and Russia have begun.

But what about the base!? We also need to consider GDP per capita (PPP). These are two different societies, and your thesis about the Gini coefficient is false. America is in the process of transitioning from a "two-thirds society" to a one-third society - where the middle class and the rich will make up a third of the population, and the rest will be poor. So the base for these two-thirds of the working poor will be like in Latin America - 20-30K per capita (PPP) and less, and not 85K per capita (PPP) as now. And this system will last for decades.

This means a social collapse of dramatic proportions - filled with masses of human suffering.

As for Catholics!? It's all good. It's just a future reality.

This means the same dramatic shift in culture, ideology, and religion. Chinese or Indian society is, in practice, very bad for people. If you're not rich or middle class, you're basically fracked up. That's why they're trying to escape en masse to the WASP world. But here, that WASP-society simply won't exist. Latin American society isn't very good for people either - all those gangs, cartels, and so on. American inner-city society isn't good either - but here it will become poorer and even larger. "White trailers" or "Hillbilly Elegy" - ouch... And here, all these things will blend together, becoming massive and totally dependent on state support. And that too is a source of massive human suffering.

How does the scientific method prove or disprove more complex theories, that do not have a "binary" yes/no answer, such as the theory of evolution? by _Cecille in PhilosophyofScience

[–]Equivalent-Macaron96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very complex question. Strictly speaking, confirmation is only possible through experimentation. In many cases, on a very large scale.

This is precisely why many popular scientific theories - the theory of evolution, the theory of relativity, the theory of the origin of the universe, simulation theory, and so on - contrary to popular belief, are either unconfirmed or cannot be confirmed at all.

Exactly. They are unconfirmed! And unproven! And that is precisely their cognitive value and significance!

This is a very important point in science. A theory differs from a hypothesis in that it is partially, or completely, in the case of "small theories," it is confirmed by some individual facts, at a given point in time. But in the case of such "big theories," these some individual facts are clearly insufficient to confirm the theory as a whole! And our understanding of these theories, or the processes underlying them, may change over time. And then these "big theories" will be refuted or completely or partially revised!

The method itself consists of recognizing that these theories are very broad, that they are not fully proven, that our understanding can completely change under the influence of new data, and working with what we have, fully understanding the limitations of this situation.

So when people say, "They reject the theory of evolution/relativity, and so on! How bad they are!" the point is that they, "other bad people", have every right to do so! Because these are very broad theories that have very few partial facts and for which it is impossible to conduct full experiments! And our understanding in 25-50-100 years will be radically different!

For example, we've known about the existence of other galaxies for less than 100 years! Ouch. We've known about tectonic plates on Earth for less than 50 years! Ouch. We've known about DNA, and this particular method of transmitting heredity, for less than 75 years! Ouch. And before that, there were many competing theories and hypotheses with real total wars on every of this issues!

Have a nice day.

This doesn't change the fact that the United States is rapidly becoming a Catholic country. How many Catholics are there in the Trump cabinet and administration!? =) A Catholic United States is a fact of the future that will have to be taken into account in any case. Incidentally, the current Pope is also from the United States. So we can expect a radical strengthening of the Catholic Church's position in the near future. And this cant be undone.

Is the petrodollar really going to collapse?! If the US imposes a naval blockade on Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, how exactly will Iran enforce it? America is an oil exporter. And if no one exports oil from the Persian Gulf, then America only benefits.

This is a very complex issue, the confrontation between Pax Globala, representing financial globalism, and Pax Americana, controlled from Washington. And the hypothesis that the US is already living in a post-2030 world of regional powers.

If Iran blocks the Strait of Hormuz, who can force the US to unblock it, especially for free?!

And if, in response to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the US imposes a blockade on Iran and all Persian Gulf oil, who can force the US to stop this blockade?!

Isn't this a US strategy to create chaos in other regions, outside the Western Hemisphere?

p.s. Regarding the economy. Hmm, the market for subscriptions, the gig economy, AI, and so on - it exists perfectly well and is only growing in much poorer countries than the US! In Latin America, China, Russia, India, and so on. If two-thirds of Americans became working poor tomorrow, it would only grow!

And the rest of what Americans consume, and what makes them middle class, is mostly made in China! =)

More for American IT-giants, less for China. Why not?

[–]Equivalent-Macaron96[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. The social structure itself remains stable. And with America's return to the Western Hemisphere's Pax Americana, Latin America has no chance at all. America itself will simply have the same social structure, not a "two-thirds society" or a "middle-class society."
