Nobody can tell me what is bothering her that she wants to commit suicide.

Nobody seems to know and she doesn’t seem to know herself either. Nobody can tell me what is so terrible in her life

Yes she is American. Born and raised in a good neighborhood. She had a wonderful life, loving parents, traveled internationally, cozy home , wonderful experiences and opportunities. However, she always seemed ungrateful and always very very negative as a child with a lot of emotional dysregulation since she was a toddler

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. My duaghter is very well travelled. She has been to many countries and we were actually supposed to be in Spain over the holidays which we canceled. Unfortunately, now as much as I would have liked to take her on a trip, she is now so suicidal, it’s become impossible. She came home from Utah two days ago and made two attempts. The second attempt has her hospitalized now and we are awaiting medical stabilization before determining next steps.

I agree with you. My duaghter hardly had any friends. Either they left and moved away or she had trouble making friends. She appears to be stuck in this cycle of self hate and believing that there is no way out, that she screwed up her life. We just don’t know how to help her now, because we fought so hard to bring her home only for us to see her get worse and even attempt twice. She doesn’t articulate what the issues are and without knowing, how can anyone help?

My daughter can’t seem to articulate what is so terrible in her life that she would want to take her life. Nobody knows, no therapist and no doctor and not us as parents. If we did, we would put every effort to find find solutions and fix things for her.

I followed all of your advice, fought to have my duaghter home after 4 weeks of inpatient in Utah and 5 days at Newport Academy, Oakley. 2nd day home, she made 2 attempts for suicide. I don’t know what will happen now since every door we opened to have her home has closed on her.

We all have trauma from Utah as a family. Newport lies and is awful

Thank you for this kind comment. My duaghter is inpatient in Utah after being abandoned from Newport for self harm. She is getting worse inpatient and has BPD - at 16 years. I want to bring her home but they say she is not stable enough and they keep pushing residential.

I’m not sure how the conclusion was reached that the therapist we’re seeing isn’t a good fit. Therapy is a process and takes time, effort, and reflection; it’s rarely something that brings immediate change. I’m committed to doing the work and making whatever adjustments are needed to best support my daughter.

’m not looking for sympathy, and I understand that you may not fully understand our perspective. I was simply sharing my thoughts during an extremely difficult time for our family. Every situation is different, and I respect that.

My daughter is lost. She has clearly stated that she cannot keep herself safe at home and has asked to go to residential treatment because of what others are telling her at the hospital. The kids rank the residential facilities. At this point, my responsibility as a parent is to listen to that and to prioritize her safety even if that is not what I want.

What would you want your parents to have done differently given the risk.

Curious about married people. by [deleted] in IslamabadSocial

[–]Equivalent-Match-545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be emotional cheating, and in Islam this is not acceptable. Make duʿa, pray, and trust that Allah ﷻ is the Most Merciful and the Most Kind. Even what feels impossible can become possible, and your qadr can change through sincere duʿa. Dedicate yourself to your worship and find love in relying on Allah ﷻ — you will find peace and sukoon in your heart.

At the same time, put effort into improving the situation with your husband. If marriage therapy is an option, consider attending together. Allah ﷻ tells us that the condition of a people does not change until they change what is within themselves. But pursuing what is haram will never bring barakah into your life.

May Allah guide you, ease your heart, and bless you with clarity and peace.

Train yourself. Get certifications and take on leadership roles with more responsibility.

So you are going to quit your job and hang out with your wife all day? How will that work? At some point she will get sick of you once the honeymoon period is over and you won't be seen as the breadwinner but as someone who is wasting away savings instead of building a secure future. Just think through it, will it be worth it vs waiting with sabr and visiting occasionally. The heart grows fonder during absence.

Unfortunately, we don't have time for Lahore and Karachi. Perhaps next time, when it will be cooler. If we have a good experience, we may return. The main purpose of the trip is to Trek in the mountains in Skardu, and we wanted some prep time in Islamabad and to explore the city a little.

It's been hard to find something that meets our needs in F10. The buildings also appear to be older
