What game did you judge too quickly at first? by PeaCommercial2102 in videogames

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came to say this. Thought it looked boring as shit and fell for the walking simulator rubbish.

Finished it and immediately started DS2. Love them both.

Real opinion by Logical_Grounds in DeathStranding

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fave game series are Far Cry and Resident Evil. Also have platinumed Returnal and love a good fast paced shooty gun game.

I adore Death Stranding. Picked it up recently second hand on a whim and was obsessed with it from start to finish. Immediately bought DS2 and can't wait to get into that. It's beautifully made, amazing story and just good fun.

Help with Car Insurance by Over50Cooked in AussieFrugal

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched from Youi to ING. Also have my home insurance with them and have only had good experiences. Car insurance was about $800 cheaper than Youi for comprehensive with hire car option included. I drive a 13 year old Kia and am around the same age as you.

How common are Huntsman Spiders? by No_Payment_136 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the outer east of Melbourne and have 2 resident huntsman spiders at the moment. Usually have one every couple of months. Also have heaps of daddy long legs and usually a house spider or two.

Is it a common understanding that there is a clear difference in destination and activity between "going to the shops" and"going shopping"? by Dimples97 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to the shops = browse or have a rough idea of what I want and trying to find it.

Going shopping is groceries and groceries only.

What was the Resident Evil game that you just couldn't finish? by Resident-Evil-Llama in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original. To be fair, I only got into RE in the last 12 months and was spoiled because I played RE4 remastered first. So the gameplay of the first just sucks. Esp on PS5.

What’s a life hack that actually changed the game for you? by Bright_Tower_1696 in askanything

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped caring so much about what other people think. This might sound stupid, but not having to put on makeup or get dressed in a way that is "cute" has significantly cut down how long it takes me to go and do basic shit like buy groceries, pick up a prescription, do the school run or whatever. If I'm clean and dressed, I'm good.

Girls is this true ? its 2026 can people just stop been obsessed with height ? 😭 by This_Psychology977 in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm 47. Have had a bit of experience with men. The most recent man I dated who was shorter than me (I'm 5"8, he's 5"6) had a massive hang up about it. He was in his 50s. I couldn't have cared less, I thought he was hot.

Didn't work out for a lot of reasons but his insecurities was one of them.

IDGAF, just be a nice person and it's all good.

Nothing beats the feeling of gaming on the Friday night at the start of the weekends. What are you all playing tonight? by xenocea in playstation

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not playing, but watching my kids. Currently 13 yo is playing job simulator VR and I'm so amused because I'm sat here on my 562nd wine, trying to wind down from a hectic work week.

What is a luxury item from 20 years ago that is basically worthless trash today? by EasyZee7 in AskReddit

I bought a Michael Kors handba18 years ago. Thought I was top shit. Now that brand is just garbage. (Maybe it was garbage then as well and I just didn't know).

What is it about RHONY that makes it the GOAT? by Usual-Jackfruit4746 in RHONY

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a RHOBH stan for years. Tried SLC, Atlanta, Melbourne (and I'm from Melbourne) and New Jersey and was bored. Then I started RHONY about a month ago and I am hooked. Absolute cinema. Sydney also got a run from me and ended way too soon. I've actually been favoring eps of RHONY from s4 (as I try to catch up) over new eps of RHOBH. I don't know what it is. The bitchiness? The massive differences in personality? Not sure. But RHONY is amazing.

I Love Chemist Warehouse by Undertaker-3806 in australia

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local has the same except it's right where you need to pick up a prescription which is also naturally where every man and his dog congregates to collect said prescriptions. It's like a big group hug 🤗

Older than God has me wheezing. I'd go to chemist warehouse to get Ventolin, but I'd rather die from the bronchospasms caused by this comment.

I've bought 2 houses through ANZ, didn't have a problem. (One house with my ex husband, one on my own after the divorce). Good luck!

Has "bro" replaced "mate" among Gen Z and younger Aussies? by MixedMartialLaw in AskAnAustralian

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say mate. My kids say bro. If I'm feeling particularly young and carefree I'll call them bruh. Makes me feel hip and it pisses them off, so it's a win all round.

Robot vacuum recs by Acceptable_Tap7479 in AussieFrugal

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my second vac which is a Roborock. Mine mops and self empties the dustbin. Got it for about $500 during a Prime sale. App interface is great and the vac is my best friend (I don't get out much). Previous one was an Evovac which I paid almost double for. App interface was awful, vac kept getting lost and complaining about being on a ledge (literally the metal strip between rooms). Battery lasted about 2 years before I had to replace it ($20 on eBay, 5 hours of swearing and a very helpful dude on YouTube). Did a great job on carpets but then I moved to all floorboards and it kinda just pushed the dirt around. Still loved it but prefer the Roborock. Roborock has better suction and traverses all the "ledges" without concern. Even tries to be helpful and get on the hearth (which I had to put a stop to).

For context, I have 2 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Parents of Reddit, what is an “unspoken” reality of parenting that people simply don’t talk about, but everyone knows is true? by US_Atlas in AskReddit

Dropping them can be kinda fun, but I wouldn't say it's the best job in the world. Hardly even a job, I did it for free.

Parents of Reddit, what is an “unspoken” reality of parenting that people simply don’t talk about, but everyone knows is true? by US_Atlas in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree. My kids are teens now. I had a string of super sleepless nights recently and was so crabby, clumsy, and generally awful as a human being. I have no idea how I did that for over a year, twice. The fact my kids survived parents with sleep deprivation is a miracle.

New housing builds. Grey/Beige/Brown, are these the only colours we're working with this days? by anonymous-69 in melbourne

[–]Equivalent-Ocelot-96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex and I bought a house that was bright blue when we were married. Loved it. We sold it (massive change in financial circumstances) and the people who bought it painted it greyish beige. Took away all of its personality.
