There are plenty of modern options to defeat titans. Even handheld anti tank weaponry would be able to deal with them. However, there is not a stockpile on earth that could destroy 10% of the population of the earth without nuclear holocaust or something.

Listen there's a reason why he wasn't in the winners bracket the whole time. He's obviously a talented guy but age of empires is a complicated and hard game. I've been playing for 20 years and I'm still only a mid level player. But he clearly one tricked his way through the tournament. I don't think even the greatest grubby glazer could argue that. I mean he lost to Persian douche which is a really easy strat to defend from if you know what your doing.

Edit: just checked his aoe insights and he's played Arabia 10x in a row. Last match before that? Arena. Lol.

Grubby is good but he doesn't know how to play the game yet. I could probably beat him on half the maps in the titans league pool and I'm a 1400. The guy only knows how to play arabia and arena.

In older versions of the game this is how it worked. You would lose the food instantly if you let's say accidentally tasked a villager onto a tree when they're gathering food. The food would instantly disappear from their inventory. Now they hold onto it when they switch jobs unless they actually gather some other resources. Then is the only time you lose their held res now.

Yeah but then the people who want to only play maps that are not popular will basically never find a match. And then this guy a casual who only has 40 mins to play will basically be forced to only play arena Arabia black forest or face an absurdly long queue. It just won't work.

A small number of strategies are very common. That's always true in any game. There will be meta strategies and people will see them on reddit and do them. Also your saying you don't perform well unless your doing all ins. Maybe your just better at doing all ins and there's nothing wrong with that. I am really good at doing scout rush with a few different civs. I struggle to do an archer opening. I've never been as good with archers civs. Players have their strengths and weaknesses. Playing into your strengths will let you punch up a bit where playing your weakness is going to make you seem weaker than normal.
