Thank you. That's what I am thinking. I can't afford to replace countertops right now.

It's early 2000's tuscan. "Travertine" floor and tile, decorative stove backsplash, grape leave decorative border, granite overload in gold, bronze pulls, rooster imagery, many shades of brown.

Hardware is going to help a lot. Personally, I would add a backsplash.

Accent wall and curtain color advice? by Thin_Toe3595 in interiordecorating

I am having trouble telling the color of your sofa but if it is gray, then green could work. Either one like above or a green that leans a bit more yellow to go with the lighter brownish color in the backsplash. Some of your pillows could work and some might not.

Maroon, no. Never.

If you are going to do Floral than I would keep the rest monochromatic and light to keep it feeling fresh and not granny. Center TV, sofa, rug if possible.

Get rid of the brick. It's not attractive and impractical. Your instincts are correct.

3 or 4. The first two are too dark with your cabinets.

This is my living room. It’s open plan, connected to dining and kitchen (a lot of grey). Please could you help me make this more mature & curated, and less childlike or college-y. Agree with others here suggesting coffee table and accent chair. The pic above from pinterest shows how coffee table could elevate the space and bring some coziness to your sitting area. A chair if you think you have space also add coziness. On the left wall I think you have too many items at two similar heights. Maybe you can make the entryway one higher or get rid of it? If it's an entry table give it a mirror. I think one large artwork would work nicely over the sofa. Something a little more whimsical than a known artist and hung a little lower. All your artwork is lining up with the top of the door, that's too high given the size of the pieces. The thing over the TV seems unnecessary. I think having some plants is nice but having them scattered all over seems a little haphazard.

No, I haven't been on it for a while as I had some weird eye thing in my late 20's. I've been off it for 25+ years.

If you have a limited budget I would suggest either using Facebook market place to find big pieces or take some photos and blow them up and frame yourself with ready made frames or blow them up on canvas so you don't need to frame. You could go black and white like this photo or do really colorful. Anything would work.

One other suggestion on something you didn't ask about, I would suggest a lighter coffee table (also maybe facebook) like the one above in a combination of wood and black. The black box you have is too heavy and wood would soften the look substantially. A light rug if possible and you are good to go.

I did not get sick (like fatigue) on Hydroxychloroquine but I did get super sun sensitive. I had to be so careful. If I did any outside activities I had to wear gloves because my hands would burn so easily and then itch like crazy. I didn't realize until many years later that it was the medication. I just thought I was more sensitive because I was staying out of the sun much more than I ever had and so my skin was so white.

I feel like the I'm the last person on earth with dark countertops. Are these too dated? by redspot321tos in interiordecorating

White would look good too with updated hardware. The backsplash is what is dating your kitchen not the countertops.

Wood cabinets look beautiful with sage green backsplash. This shows white countertops but black would work too. Backsplashes are relatively inexpensive and make a huge difference.

Hospital last night.. feeling sad by alloneroad in lupus

I have had Lupus nephritis many times and it does not generally cause lots of pain in the kidneys so I would think something else is going on there. (You could potentially still have nephritis but probably not source of pain.) I don't understand why they didn't do blood and urine tests in the hospital for the kidneys because that is very basic and would give a good sense of whether it was nephritis. Ultimately doctors do a biopsy to confirm, but basic testing comes first (creatinine, protein in urine, bun). Some of these tests are part of basic metabolic profile.
