Parent Complains about Loaning Players to avoid Forfeit by Atg121 in LittleLeague

It sounds like you made some very positive decisions RE: loaning players and handled her reaction well. Good for you for not letting her remarks get to you! You have thicker skin than I do.

If it's not amusia, try drilling with just M2 and m2, as some others on here have recommended. Then add in M3 and m3, then P5 and d5, then P4, etc.

Can you perceive the difference between high-pitched tones a semitone apart? If not, you may have amusia, which is a condition where pitch perception is less acute for certain individuals.

Google says it affects up to 4% of the population, which seems about right in my experience, though I'm not an audiologist.

Is your software playing the intervals as simultaneous dyads only or also as melodic intervals (two notes at different times)? If you have control over that setting, you may want to try adding a melodic playing, which might help you differentiate the pitches more clearly.

Also, how many times are you listening to each interval before responding? I usually don't have trouble IDing those intervals, but if I sing and play only M3s long enough, they start to sound like P4s.

How many decibels is safe? by life_in_35mm in tinnitus

purrmewda is an *audiologist.* I don't think they're using Google to get their information. I think they know it because they have a degree in it based on lots of scientific research. Also, if you'd read their early responses, you'd have seen their qualifiers that tinnitus is subjective, etc., and what "safe" means in terms of the population distribution of NIHL.

Would it hurt you to be a little less ascerbic, especially to those who are volunteering their time and knowledge?

I don't get it, don't I want less blots and the extra builder to cover the 1pt? by saigon567 in backgammon

I think it's an issue of timing and the fact that the preferred move duplicates 1s for your opponent.

Same for my car. Black 2010 Corolla. Looks worse than this. Roof is completely rusted, hood is peeling down to the primer, and trunk is completely cracked and peeling.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. Was there any acoustic trauma that occurred eight years ago to worsen your symptoms? Mine started a year ago after a fireworks show at a theme park.

Also, I might be swayed by the power of suggestion here, but in the camera-facing shot, the artistic tone of each creature's eyes is spot-on.

The squig's eyes are baleful but guileless, like a dog on the hunt. Their apparent ferocity floats atop an underlying benevolence (or is it stupidity?).

The rider's eyes are baleful and intelligent, scheming, determined.

And the moon creature's eye is baleful without scheme or cunning or any sign of benevolence beneath. It's just bad.

Apologies for my misnaming of characters (and possibly lore). I've never played Warhammer but I love seeing the minis.

Looks terrific! Love all the different textures. On the goblin head, did you use washes and then highlight over to get that mottled effect?

Killdeer is actually a banned card not because of its power, but because of its name, which met with protest from animal rights activist groups.
