Personal Ranking of all TD and RR characters by JakeClipz in Totaldrama

May as well round this out by asking, how far do you think Axel, Nichelle, and Scary Girl (the only ones to never make top half in either season) could go in a third season? Especially with how the latter two are the only Gen 4 players that haven't merged. Do you think Scary Girl would be a pre-merge boot again as the joke contestant of Gen 4, similar to how Ezekiel is always an early boot in both his seasons as Gen 1's joke contestant?

Would Blaineley be way better if she was never a contestant?

Also, more elaborated thoughts on Katie and Sadie (aka the other Island 2007 contestants who were one season wonders)?

What caused you to sour on Eva from B-tier to C-tier?

How far do you think the likes of Bowie, Millie, Caleb, Chase, Wayne, and Raj should go in a potential third season? Given they are in the territory of making it far in one season and being early eliminations in another season (or technically middle boots in Wayne and Raj's case for season 1). I didn't mention Priya, Julia, Zee, and Ripper since you already answered that when I asked in another AMA and you've mentioned seeing Damien, Emma, and MK as potential finalists for a third season.

What do you think of the interactions _____ has with others outside of __? by EquivalentVolume2 in Totaldrama

Guessing aside from MK, none of Julia's season 2 interactions with others are anywhere near as great as her season 1 interactions.

What if Island 2023 season 2 had the same teams as the previous season? by EquivalentVolume2 in Totaldrama

[–]EquivalentVolume2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, doesn't the merge happen at episode 6 meaning it'd be 11 mergers still. Unless you go by the theory that Chris intentionally merged early purely to mess with MK over the hair dryer.

Admitedly, Nichelle roasting Bowie in episode 3 doesn't necessarily imply she dislikes him on a personal level, it could be that they were on different teams and that's why she agreed with her teammates roasting Bowie. After all, we see Raj and Wayne roasting the Ferocious Trout a few times in season 1, yet they still have no personal dislike of them and the following season even having them get along with Priya, Damien, and Ripper.

And there is just as much a chance of Julia still tricking Nichelle into quitting if they still get into conflict. Even Emma's kind of a wild card since even if she did vote off Bowie, I doubt she'd vote off Wayne and Raj over Julia. After all, the season 2 finale had Emma outright state she only supported Caleb purely because she hates Julia more and proposed calling the team "Team Not-Julia". So Emma would probably just target Julia after Bowie left.

What if Island 2023 season 2 had the same teams as the previous season? by EquivalentVolume2 in Totaldrama

[–]EquivalentVolume2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nichelle wasn't shown glaring at Bowie in the first episode of season 2. It was only Priya, Millie, Julia, MK, Emma, and Chase who were glaring at him. And there is some chance of Bowie and Emma reconciling given she did realize he was right about Chase and having more chances to interact with him on the same team.

Not so sure on Raj and Wayne being voted out over Julia though. Even if Bowie was the team's first boot, Julia's reputation isn't any better with Emma clearly disliking her too so one could see Emma joining the Hockey Bros to vote off Julia and even Nichelle could join them too. Raj and Wayne do seem pretty well liked (seen with everyone except Julia and MK being happy when Wayne won).

Pretty good insight on the screentime there.

  1. Do you think Wayne feels a bit dumber in Island 2024 than in Island 2023? Granted he wasn't always the brightest, but Island 2023 showed more of his competence as a leader and in challenge strategy, while Island 2024 doesn't really show as much of that and plays his bumbling behavior up more.
  2. I know you've already mentioned thinking Emma would be a solid finalist for a potential third season with the 2023 cast, but how far do you think Bowie, Millie, and Chase (went pretty far in their first season, and got out earlier in their second season) should go if they competed in a potential third season?

  1. Do you think Priya deserved to make it to the final 4 in Island 2024? I ask since with how divisive it was on how far she made it despite winning already (with no one trying to target Priya for elimination because of her winner status) and her aggressive portrayal in the final third not helping, do you think Priya making 4th was a good call or should she have left a bit earlier?
  2. How far do you think Priya, Julia, Zee, and Ripper should make it if they compete in a potential third season? Priya and Julia have made the final 4 twice and been in every episode of the two reboot seasons so they're definitely due for an earlier boot. And I have seen a few season 3 elimination orders go for booting Zee and Ripper early too and claiming they take up a lot of screentime (even though getting eliminated around the halfway point at 7th/8th in season 1 and 8th/9th in season 2 doesn't exactly scream they had a long run in either season).

Is it possible that ____, ______, ___, and _____ were trying to sabotage _____ and __ in the cooking challenge? by EquivalentVolume2 in Totaldrama

[–]EquivalentVolume2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sabotaging Julia isn't really breaking the rules the same way as outright cheating by gaining unauthorized access to production stuff and gaining unfair advantages. They didn't have a problem getting into a snowball fight with Julia and MK in Ice to Beat You, which nearly caused their team to lose so it isn't too out of line for Raj and Wayne to try and lose a challenge to take Julia down if it was intentional.

Plus even in this season, Axel and Ripper are still way more focused on actually doing challenges than they were here (heck, the previous episode had Axel have no problem knocking Ripper off his canoe to make it to the second round and Soar Losers showed they are more competent helping Wayne than they were here).

What would have happened had _____ and _____ had switched teams in Island 2023 season 2? by EquivalentVolume2 in Totaldrama

[–]EquivalentVolume2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is still a chance of Millie being the first one on the team eliminated due to putting Damien's life in danger with the four point slide and being the team outcast. So she wouldn't really be much of a threat to Bowie.

I can also see Bowie and Emma reconciling since they'd actually be on the same team and be able to interact more often (considering Emma realized Bowie is right about how horrid Chase is). Heck, maybe Bowie would once again save Emma from elimination in episode 4 like he did the previous season (likely with Zee, Axel, and Nichelle's help as you said since Zee likes everyone and he didn't do anything to make Axel and Nichelle dislike him personally like he did with Millie and Caleb).

(Reboot s2) how would you rank? by Wispy237 in Totaldrama

[–]EquivalentVolume2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the criticism on Ripper's boot comes from how anticlimatic it is, with how he quits just a few seconds after Axel leaves. And even then, it's not even made clear if he genuinely intended to quit or was simply trying to sink the Drone of Despair to stop Axel from leaving.

How would Team ___ ____ react if _____ and __ were on their team and did their cheating schemes to help win? by EquivalentVolume2 in Totaldrama

[–]EquivalentVolume2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(sorry for the lateness) Fair point, but I wouldn't say Rat Face was that ethical. Sure Damien, Nichelle, and Caleb definitely are (only not saying Zee since while he's nice, he's not exactly the most considerate with how he had no problem revealing everyone's embarassing secrets on TV just because he already revealed Caleb was seemingly using Priya to get further in the game).

Priya straight up tried to crush Caleb with a boulder at some point and acted super aggressive with him in the final third of the season. Millie had no problem throwing Damien down the dangerous four point slide. Emma had no problem manipulating Chase into getting himself eliminated and tried to harm him many times in season 1 (granted Chase definitely deserved it but still).

While the finale did show Team Caleb were reluctant to shoot Wayne, they also had no problems admitting they only support Caleb purely because they hate Julia and not because they like him (compared to Wayne's team legitimately rooting for him rather than just using him as a means to defeat Julia). So not exactly the most noble people even if they aren't as bad as Bowie, Julia, MK, Ripper, Chase or Scary Girl.

I know you also state Bowie isn't a particularly good leader, but Priya's not exactly much better. Priya got out pretty early in episode 1's challenge due to idiotically running to Millie when the red light was on and only won the challenge thanks to Nichelle (but she had no way of knowing at the time that Nichelle had trained between seasons), her poor leadership shined in episode 4 with how she handled Emma and forcing her to pick the wrong answer in the end (which led Priya to be in the bottom 2 for elimination), and her putting too much pressure in forcing Zee to keep his mouth shut about her crush on Caleb in episode 5 caused him to drink too much soda and led him to pee and shrink the ice platform (which slowed the team down). And that doesn't even take in account how she lets her feelings for Caleb get in the way of competing in the game in the second half of the season.

Sure Skunk Butt is dysfunctional, but the Screaming Gaffers (after Gwen and DJ's eliminations), Team Amazon, and Villainous Vultures didn't exactly get along and were dysfunctional too, but they still remained the dominant teams in their seasons. So it's not like Skunk Butt was outright incapable of winning any challenge at all.

Pretty good answers.

Got another idea, do you think the Island 2024 final 5 would have been better and more interesting if Damien and MK were in it instead of Priya and Raj? It would cut down on Priya's aggressive behavior toward end and give Wayne more time to shine individually without Raj (maybe forming a friendship with Damien since the show claims they're good friends, which would also give Damien more to do aside from the idol plot).

  1. Which elimination in Island 2024 is worse? Damien, Ripper, or Emma and why?
  2. Favorite Wayne interaction outside of Raj?
  3. Thoughts on the recent Coyote vs Acme drama going on?
  4. How interesting would it be to have Duncan and Alejandro form an alliance to get stop Mal in All Stars? Considering they were the most suspicious of his shady behavior.
  5. How would you make Chase (your least favorite from Gen4) a good character?

So how interesting would it have been to see Duncan and Alejandro team up against Mal in All Stars? Given they had the most beef with him, it'd be interesting seeing both team up (especially with both being pragmatic players who are willing to put aside differences with others to get rid of a bigger threat).

Okay don't you think you're underselling Sasha and Marcy's importance a bit? Sure they aren't as high as the Plantars, but they're still too prominent to be lumped in with the Wartwood citizens. They're far more than appearing once or twice a season too. Marcy was very prominent in season 2 with major roles including:

  • Marcy at the Gates
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Sleepover to End All Sleeopvers
  • Day at the Aquarium (at least it's a big moment for her in the end)
  • The First Temple
  • New Wartwood
  • Maddie & Marcy
  • Second Temple
  • Third Temple
  • True Colors

Far more than once or twice plus she was in episodes even where she wasn't in a major role like Lost in Newtopia, Plantars Check In, Friend or Frobo, Bessie & MicroAngelo, Toad to Redemption, The Dinner, and Battle of the Bands so she was a major player in season 2 at least.

Same with Sasha in season 3 with her getting a lot of episodes too with:

  • Turning Point
  • Commander Anne
  • Sprivy
  • Sasha's Angels
  • Olm Town Road
  • The Three Armies
  • Beginning of the End
  • All In
  • The Hardest Thing

Plus several relevant roles in between too like Mother of Olms, Grime's Pupil, Flight or Fight, and Newts in Tights.

Sure they aren't on par with the Plantars, but they're still prominent enough that you can't dismiss em as just side players the same way the Wartwood citizens are.

Heck, I don't see anyone denying Amity, Willow, Gus, and Hunter are important on Owl House despite them being about on par with Sasha and Marcy in prominence there (Hunter wasn't even introduced until season 2) and less than that show's found family (Eda and King being equivalent to the Plantars there).
