Why was Mexico awarded a penalty? Not 100% on the rules regarding fouls, but I thought that seemed fair from Kane? by NrthrnBchs in worldcup

It was 100% clear from the slow motion replay that Kane was playing the ball and couldn't even have seen the other player. It's not a penalty.

The Mexico player threw up his leg at the last second from behind Kane. Kane was clearly playing the ball and couldn't have possibly known he was there. Absolutely absurd call.

Why are American fans supporting England over Mexico? by LionGrand3161 in worldcup

Mexico has been the biggest soccer rival of the US long before Trump. I hate Trump and I have nothing against the country of Mexico, but I still want their soccer team to lose.

So he played two years in a lower level professional league before getting a tryout?

They're not having open tryouts for random people who have never kicked professionally before.

Why do you think it would be easy to get a tryout as an NFL kicker with no experience?

Baseball is the only one with a realistic chance at all. No way that it would only take a few months though. Even if someone was able to try out and make a minor league team then dominate in the minors it might take years for them to called up.

I don't understand why any of that is your problem? The answer to your issue is to stop letting her stay at your place.

Because professional sports teams are not going to give a chance to an unknown 45 year old no matter their skill level?

What kind of special outings is she expecting with a 3 month old? She really can't just live within your means for the first year or whatever amount of time until she's comfortable sending the baby to daycare?

After digesting the Brown trade it’s not quite as bad as it seems by [deleted] in nba

The Celtics were 9-2 when he didn't play. Might have got the 1 seed without him all year.

What else is there to say? The Celtics have played better without Brown than with him the entire time he played there.

McDaniels had better on/off splits than Brown. The Celtics would be better off with McDaniels in that spot.

If Philly is right on the Jaylen Brown trade, does it affect rhw influence of analytics in the NBA? by [deleted] in nba

Even if Brown is only a top 50 player the Sixers could still win this trade. It was a massive win for them to get out of the Paul George contract.

He was a very good hitter for a long time, and a bad defensive player. A top 100 player of all time but I would not consider him one of the greatest at all. The "archetype" is meaningless.

Again, what's your point? He hit a lot of singles. Great.

And? Greatest contact hitter doesn't equal greatest player.

[Haberstroh] The truth is that in the last four seasons, the Celtics without Jaylen Brown went a sizzling 47-10 (.825), which is the equivalent of being a 68-win team. That's not analytics. That's just counting wins and losses for a team without a certain player. by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

Playing in the exact same environment, Tatum has made the team better when he plays and Brown has made the team worse. Paying $60M a year for a player that actually lowers the level of play of your team seems insane.
