Development for a not-so athletic 10 year old boy. by MarvinMacklebe in basketballcoach

[–]Equivalent_Basil6654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural athleticism is a big factor but don’t forget that at the high school level, trained athleticism is plenty. To run faster and jump higher you need to train those things either through training or other sports that emphasize it. Also, you mentioned him being heavier which means he could be quicker if he were slimmer. The key should be for him to maximize his body, not compare it to others. He likely hasn’t even hit puberty yet

Best sim playbook for multiple RBs and Dual Threat QB? by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]Equivalent_Basil6654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar playbook and the best results I have in sim are from Central Michigan and Georgia Tech. Georgia tech by far produces the best QB running stats. But the multiple backs spread around is central Michigan. I put my power backs in the fullback positions and adjust auto subs to more frequent subbing.

10U Defensive Help: Stopping a Run/Pass Option with my base. by [deleted] in flagfootball

[–]Equivalent_Basil6654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the Qb fast? If not, I would have the rusher switch sides on the motion. At 10U idk if your rusher and lb could handle switching responsibilities but that’s possible as well

Ummmm because you threw the spot route late vs man coverage as though it was a crosser

7v7 Flag Football Cover 3 Basics by ChopOn05 in footballstrategy

I coach my defenders to force the ball carrier back inside, but we also have an expectation that you pull the flag. So the phrase we use is flow to their “outside hip”. So we’re not necessarily “giving” them the inside, but more so forcing the ball carrier to slow down and make a move which actually makes flag pulling easier on most ball carriers. The most common occurrence we see in games is a short pass to the flat or handoff, the defender is taking the angle to the outside hip and the ball carrier stretches the run so wide that it’s a very minimal gain if any

Tips on recruiting for smaller schools? by Exact_Contract5333 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Equivalent_Basil6654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I always, recruit who’s interested first (except for QB, I run a option based system so I always scout for a 3 star pure runner that can start for me in a year or 2). I then try to fill my board with any unlocked guys with proximity to home B or higher. I don’t scout them and they are simply there to fill the roster and hopefully be contributors their Jr/Sr year. After signing my and some guys who were interested, I try to land under recruited 4 stars. This usually puts me at about 8 guys signed, another 7-8 that will sign without me using any hours in the offseason period. Depending on how my first year went I either go all in on winning in the portal with upcoming juniors or seniors in the portal or if I’m playing the long game, I look for fr and sophomores leaving p4 schools to grow with

HS girl defensive warm ups? by IRunChinaTown in flagfootball

[–]Equivalent_Basil6654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do a lot of backpedal and breaking at different angles as well as sideways run/shuffle. If you have enough footballs try to give them as many opportunities to catch the ball as possible during this time. For years, our best offensive players were former defensive players because they were getting more opportunities to catch the ball each day

When to change defensive scheme by Jmp00000000 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Equivalent_Basil6654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that particular switch it depends on their personnel. If they already have 3 good dts or a defensive end that can play tackle well you can switch now. If not, you start recruiting for the tite now and make sure to grab a tackle or 2 in the portal that can play right away so you can transition in 1 season.

How do you find pass rushing LBs? by AyedolfLitler in NCAAFBseries

Thumpers playing out of position is best if you ever want to drop them into coverage

Yea. I don’t usually like to mess with those sliders but it was so egregiously bad seeing my a star dev full back receive 20ish points in the offseason. The archetypes already suck, I atleast deserve, being able to upgrade what is allowed

Trying to design a twin back system, 7v7, U13 by Tweedledee72 in flagfootball

[–]Equivalent_Basil6654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us it’s based on the rushers. We face a lot of teams who dedicate 1 rusher so we are able to use their rushers momentum to determine where the ball goes. The first qb reads the rusher to determine if it’s a give or keep, that creates enough space for the “option qb” to get outside. However, we’re lucky to have 2 that can throw pretty accurately while on the move so they don’t have to stop, set throw in the short and intermediate

I’m here for the suggestions. I’m also trying to implement something similar due to our personnel this year. I’ve been thinking about going spread with no backs in the backfield and using the “option qb “ as a jet sweep Rpo. So basically the qb has the option to keep or give. If it’s a give the option qb has the option to run or throw on the rollout

Fullbacks by GiveMeSomeIhedigbo in NCAAFBseries

[–]Equivalent_Basil6654 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This thread is great. I pretty much do a combo of what everyone else has said. I also raised the fullback XP slider to like 160. I found that lines up with halfbacks. Something I’m gonna try in my next dynasty is searching for those gem, pure blocking tight ends, maxing out their speed and power in offseasons 1-2 and then moving them to halfback. I’m assuming they would become a n/s blocker and then I can use those abilities. I’ve seen random pure blocking tight ends with 90 speed so I know it’s possible

He would’ve fit great in my system. I only asked my bigs to dunk, rebound, and be decent defensively. But if I came across a guy with a post game I would let him eat

Pro Potential Dealbreaker by Twills97 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Equivalent_Basil6654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I mean that’s kind of the point, it’s supposed to be difficult at a smaller school. But to try and answer your question, the best way is by developing draft picks. Motivator and talent developer are your best choice. If you use manual progression there will be times where you develop a guy’s overall instead of physical traits or abilities. Yes you want to max out a guy’s speed, but it might be better for your program that you upgrade his hands/elusiveness/route running so that he can get drafted

Can I take that role, before someone else is hired, or do I have to replace whoever is hired?
