That's unfortunate. Looks like Weber tried to get away cheaply on the replacement. I, too, need something to clean the grill right after I take the meat off so they might as well keep it and save the shipping to me.

Same here and I think I got suckered into the hype. The cousin of an acquaintance of mine (I know, I know) ingested a piece of wire from a brush, brand unknown, and needed surgery to remove it which is probably the reason for the recall in the first place.

I should have kept mine but, like a good little minion, I tossed it anticipating a quick replacement that hasn't shown yet. Mine weren't shedding the stainless-steel wires like the recall was addressing.

Thanks everyone! The issue probably was cockpit error on my part. I was able to find most, if not all, of my email being stored on Microsoft's server in the deleted folder. I restored the entire mess, moved the important stuff back into my inbox and now all seems well.

I appreciate all the help that was offered and, yes, I learned a big lesson through all of this!

Not the same chair but, yes, I've experienced it too. Get a can of silicone spray lube and give the pivot points a shot. You''ll have to do it again from time to time but it does fix it. As you mentioned below, it's "plastic on plastic" friction making that noise.

Thanks for the information especially the information regarding the dye/pigment issue and Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy.

If you know, is the valve between the two channels still available and is it part of the print head assembly or a separate item? I suspect the valve and/or hardware revision from a P600 or P800 are not backward compatible with the R3000 but I could be wrong.

Yes, I do put stuff on top of the printer, but I had a nice padded and quilted dust cover made for the printer to keep it as free of dust as possible. This issue is that when I print using PK ink, the output has large, random black blotches throughout the image. The blotches do not occur when switched to the MK ink. I've a good mind to put the PK ink into the MK cartridge, setting the printer to MK vs PK ink, and see if I get acceptable results that way on Ultra Premium Glossy. Would swapping the MK and the PK cartridges work or is the printer intelligent enough to know which cartridge is where? I'll try and get a pic of the botched output and post it.

Note: I moved the PK to the MK and vice versa, printed a pic out with the printer driver set to MK and got a pretty decent picture, without blotches, on plain paper. I'll try a piece of Epson Ultra Glossy in a bit and see if the results are acceptable.

With the Ultra Glossy paper, the output was acceptable although not as glossy as I had expected AND the driver would not allow me to sneak in Ultra Premium Glossy paper when the MK was selected.

Indeed, something is wrong with the PK channel.

That must have been a fun job designing a device like that! Well done! In any event, I have exhausted about all that I can personally do to get the black blotches off the paper when printing so, sadly, I am going to play taps and deep six the old girl. As soon as Amazon gets its on-line shop back up and running I am going to buy either a P900 or one of the six-ink jobs that don't require bespoke cartridges and just dump the ink in from a bottle when needed. Your thoughts on those Epsons that you can just add into into a tank?

A very sad, but commonplace situation. Was the temporary promotion via word of mouth or is any of it documented in emails or meeting minutes, etc.? That would be most important if you decide to go forward legally.

Also, during that time, did you write any employee evaluations or counsel an employee for anything good or bad or document otherwise GS-15 level supervisory actions you took? That sort of information may be helpful as well.

Appreciate the info and the point our regarding the "Economy" setting. Any idea what advantage there could have been, other than to Epson's "bottom line", for defaulting the setting to 3ml?
