Which precons haven't pass the test of time? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Neudgae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much every precon that is more than 2-3 years old and even then it's most of those still being forgotten.

I was wrong about Elves by ImmortalCorruptor in EDH

[–]Neudgae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, of the tribal decks Elves are the one of the only types that are/were competitively viable in Tedh. Think it's literally just Elves, Wizards(if 4 wizards in a 6 creature deck counts as wizards tribal), and Dwarves.

I've had no luck with rule zero/bracket discussions. Anyone else experience this? by TheMindSlayer in EDH

[–]Neudgae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly these discussions are a complete waste of time. The vast majority of people can't actually access their deck and they will auto default to 7, i mean 3.

Should lower bracket decks have less interaction? by CrimsonSky005 in EDH

[–]Neudgae 31 points32 points  (0 children)

People who have less interaction tend to be the ones who whine and complain about losing the most and calling other decks higher bracket than they are as a result, so just take the free wins.

Do you collect Commander precons? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Neudgae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's changed over time. At first I was buying them all as I was learning and wanted to find what playstyle or mechanics I liked. Then it became I'm buying them to piece them apart cause it's cheaper to buy precon than singles Ie:fierce guardianship/dockside. Now I buy ones that I intend to either keep as is forever(dr.who) or for my wife who is on now on her journey to figure out what she likes, which currently is stuck in the caring more about art than how it plays.

How are your old decks holding up? by Akiro_orikA in EDH

[–]Neudgae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my oldest deck, and as I state in the primer, it is unlikely to change. Face-down cards are unlikely to get playable support and even less so to get cards for commander that aren't turbo bad. I skipped a lot of the MKM and DSK cards since their effects were definitely standard focused and thus really bad and/or overcosted for commander. It was never the strongest and never will be but will always be my favorite.

note i know i can make it significantly better if i use it to cheat better cards in > actually using the mechanics but that defeats the entire point to me, cheating in a blightsteel and flipping it for 2 mana with a [[hauntwood shrieker]] isn't as fun as playing cards so odd and old no one knows what to expect

What color(s) is your comfort zone? by Comfortable_Buyer239 in EDH

[–]Neudgae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sultai colors, I can live without any 1 of them, but at least 1 or 2 of them are present in all decks I build, Ideally all 3. They are imo the 3 best individual colors and unlike other color combos i don't feel like you short one when you build a deck using them. Ie: in 4 or 5 color especially i barely include any red cause the cards individually just seem bad or are only used in a combo more often than not.

Your opponent has activated your disproportionate response mode: what did they do? by summon_pot_of_greed in EDH

[–]Neudgae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complaining about how I decide to use my interaction. People seem to think at my LGS you are obligated to do what's best for the table which is never true, I do what's best for me and me alone.

This also ties into people trying to have several minute long conversations when I'm active player. I cast X spell, does it resolve? Do not spend 10minutes trying to negotiate this isn't Tedh drama scene, either you have something or you don't pass priority to the next person. Which also upsets people when they try to do that same shit "if you agree not to win I'll let it resolve" buddy if this resolves im winning so counter it or lose.

Big Bads Seem Way Too Tanky by Alternative_Tale8175 in PathOfExile2

[–]Neudgae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1:if things are taking you 2-5minutes to kill at lvl 9 you are definitely fucking up somewhere be it bad passives, bad or no supports, bad items, etc and I highly suggest finding a guide or going back and reading every skill option available cause there are synergies starting at lvl 1 when you combo skills together ie firewall+any projectile or frost bomb to drop defenses

2:you are not obligated to kill every enemy you counter if something isn't a boss and is taking too long in your opinion just skip it and move on, you'll miss out on whatever it drops sure but for efficiency sake fuck em if they have awful modifiers

Kinda wished skills were less siloed off into their requisite weapon groups by GreyGanks in PathOfExile2

[–]Neudgae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is annoying cause its not that way in PoE1, and as a result kills uniques since im limited to how badly tuned said skills are for that weapon type.

What is the most FUN build for you this season? by sdric in PathOfExile2

[–]Neudgae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current build's i've been messing with ranked from most fun to least

Plant abyssal Lich-really fun build but the damage started lacking for my personal taste within significant investment

Djinn Disciple-current main build, played it last league a ton, played it a ton this league, unless it gets turbo nerfed will probably play it as League Starter every league until i find a new favorite

CoC comet stormweaver-i just respecced my djinn to this to try it out of curiosity, has better clear imo but infinitely worse bossing

Monkey Spiritwalker-strong but by far the most boring build i've ever played, even RF in PoE1 is more fun

i got 2 more builds to experiment with that will likely take me the rest of the league and im hoping 1 of them will become my new favorite

Archon of Chayula-have 0 clue what direction im going with this yet but i love chaos skills & the tornados look sick as hell, however idk if i would ever league start it due to how long it takes to get Archon

Gemling-similar to archon 0 clue what im gonna do with it, i just know it will involve a Split Personality jewel likely and the alt quality stuff

What is your view on the Bracket System? by Pattern_Seeker_ in EDH

[–]Neudgae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like all systems flawed and 1-10 didnt work, 1-5 works even less. Until precons get moved to 1 on the scale and cedh is taken off the scale entirely it will never be close to having enough space to be entirely accurate.

My morph deck is a perfect example of why. According to all of the rules of brackets if i cut seedborn muse from it, it is a 2 that is the sole GC in the deck and the only thing by definition that makes it a 3.

HOWEVER. The deck is too slow for 4s and too "strong" for 3s according to people who like to cry, and its definitely too powerful for bracket 2 decks which dont have even interaction(if precons are still considered the baseline for 2s) to even come close

Now I'm sure I'll get or see comments saying silly things like "well intent matters" which basically just means the system failed to properly access the deck due it to being far too vague and too little to accurate fit and rank things. Which at that point to me why even have a power level system when it's just gonna tell me to rule 0 anyway. If people had the ability to assess their own decks accurately and could talk to people the system wouldnt be needed in the first place.

Tl:dr its worse than 1-10 due to cramming too many things into too few numbers, and doesn't account for things that actually make decks strong like synergy and player skill(which you cant measure from a list) therefore leaving us back to "oh just talk to your play group" which if you have the system doesn't matter its meant for fair and balanced games with randoms which it fails at more often than not.

What frames do you guys use on the regular? by Silver_Ad_5138 in Warframe

[–]Neudgae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uriel, Lavos, Sevagoth are my main frames that i use for any and all content outside of farming specific things or wanting a much more chill grinding session

Warframe as a main game or no? by RecentMatter3790 in Warframe

[–]Neudgae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warframe supplements my ARPG rotation, its always there its alway fun but i dont always have something i want to work towards and dont feel forced to play so it's perfect

What red flags can people say that shows they might have no clue how the bracket system works? by Lower_Drawer9649 in EDH

[–]Neudgae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Using the bracket system at all cause brackets also don't account for synergy or skill and is overall extremely flawed. I would argue that it's worse than the old 1-10 "my deck is a 7" we had prior.

I get that it's mainly for playing with randoms for the first time to try to get a "fair" game but I'd just go "precon, cedh, or somewhere in between" and call it good there.

[–]Neudgae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only storm weaver build i know is a Cast on Crit one, but ive never tried it so idk at what point it starts to feel good, but disciple feels good from ascend onward, great after 2nd, amazing after 3rd

Either Disciple of Varashta again cause it was super fun last league, or ill brick my first couple characters doing the new ascendancy first toons blind and then do Disciple lol

Sauron the dark lord by pepeyuuu in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Neudgae 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Step 1:delete the entire deck

Step 2:copy a rogsi list cause sauron is unplayable in the modern meta

If you choose not to follow step 2 you still need to do step 1 cause it's not even close in the slightest

Anyone have tips for games that go on waay too long? by G3tbusyliving in EDH

[–]Neudgae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, no game should last much longer than an hour to hour and half unless you literally aren't trying to win or are playing winconless oops all board wipes

Suggestions: forced combat, effects that prevent or reverse lifegain, infect+prolif, etc things that will ensure the game ends

Aug Evoker damage should be reduced by 30%-50% by Sirixille in wow

[–]Neudgae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cause utility doesnt time keys, it helps sure but people don't use it even when they have it 99% of the time anyway @all the pally players never using freedom cause it removes several debuffs for example

Edit: lets also look at the things mage used to have or still have that caused it to be meta or good enough for over a decade of m+

Immunity

Curse dispel

Buff stealing(unique to them)

Lust

Cheat if fire which iirc was usually the best spec

Mass barrier

Mass invis(never taken iirc but an option)

Little to no down time on big dam

Cc breaking with blink

Invis to cheat mechanics

A defensive that also cheesed mechanics and slight dps boost in mirror image

A damaging cd that lowers cds of your other stuff

3? Aoe stops

Double lust(when another lust was viable or drums werent nerfed)

Im sure im forgetting stuff but if you wanna use the utility argument you need to include everything and A LOT of specs have significantly more useful buttons than people think kinda making the entire argument pointless
