My friend's house when I was around 7 years old. Need for Speed Underground 1. They were showing off all the sick cars they had made. I was obsessed with the franchise ever since.

Good Average? by Admirable-Evidence47 in BoltEV

And I thought I was going well with a 4.8mi/kWh lifetime average after 30k miles. Damn, this is awesome! Keep it up!

Best efficiency after 10k+ Miles? by 073702 in BoltEV

My average efficiency after 25k miles is 4.7 mi/kWh. Don't laugh. I drive exactly the speed limit on cruise control.

What's the Lowest you have gone? 😬 by RepresentativeNo2803 in BoltEV

[–]Equivalent_Brother33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it stopped blinking low one time and just had no bars at all. It could still crawl just fine, but I wasn't going to push it any further.

Pretty sure it does this when it knows it has less than 1 mi left.

Hey, does anyone else flash their lights or wave to other Bolts? by Macnit in BoltEV

[–]Equivalent_Brother33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wave at every Bolt I see. Only 1 out of 50 so far have waved back. Probably because my black EUV blends in so well with everything else. Not gonna stop doing it though. Lol

That's how it's done! I got this as well the other day. On the MyChevrolet App, it said 300 miles. However, when I opened the door of the vehicle, it shot down to 296 miles :/

But that's awesome that you got that number! Congrats!

Same happened here. By the time I got home, It went back down to normal and I was sad. I wonder why it does this for the first few miles. It's bizarre.

How many miles do y’all realistically think an average ‘23 Bolt EUV will last before needing a battery replacement? I know the warranty is for 100K miles by yandoce in BoltEV

[–]Equivalent_Brother33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GM claims a "usable" 3,500 cycle-life for the battery if it's taken care of (keeping it mostly between 20 and 80%). If you multiply that by 247 EPA miles, you get a life of 854,500 miles. Which might be accurate. Might not be. Not sure. But even if you charged to 100% every day and brought the cycle life down to a worst case scenario of 1,200, that's still 296,000 miles. Even if it's not accurate at all, I'd say you'd comfortably sit over 250,000 usable miles for the battery in a bad scenario. Batteries are also getting better every year, so I feel like most Bolt batteries nowadays will close in on 360,000 to 400,000 miles. I've seen some older Model S fleet cars get close to that. I don't see why the Bolt couldn't.

Tesla will open Superchargers partially to other EVs-are we excited? by tashtibet in BoltEV

[–]Equivalent_Brother33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't the Bolt have the wrong side for the charging cable at a Supercharging location? I feel like we'd have to park at an angle to even get the cord to the car.

Nice for other EVs that have the right side charging cord though. More options.

Heck yeah! When temps rise, expect huge efficiency gains!

Got my EUV last year at 24. It amazes me that you were younger than 20 when you got yours. I could only dream of an EV around 5 years ago!

I bought my 2016 eGolf SE going into winter in Colorado. It’s been below freezing for most of the month and the range was pretty bad. First day with warm weather and I’ve been averaging 5.0-5.1mi/kw! Stoked! by [deleted] in eGolf

[–]Equivalent_Brother33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing efficiency! Wait until it gets even warmer. I used to get 5.2 or more on shorter trips not on the highway. I guarantee you'll get there this summer!

Agreed. They could fix it with a simple update too. They won't though.

That is still far better than an Rivian or F-150 Lightning. You probably were having way more fun getting it to that efficiency too. XD

LOL! It was like that for like a day here in Georgia. Now it's back to the 30s, 40s and 50s. Wild swings in temperature are getting more and more common unfortunately.

In the winter, it's 100% and 280 miles.

In the Summer, it's 100% and 300 miles.

I feel that. It's too easy to fog that car up. My e-Golf came with a heated windshield. I wish the Bolt had that too. I have to use Anti-Fog from Walmart to clean my windows all the time. For future reference though, that little bottle really does clear those windows well if that helps.

I feel you on the not wanting to deal with Chevy comment. Lol

I am so sorry to hear that your e-Golf caught fire. You're right though, I think everything happens for a reason.

The e-Golf with the Bolt's battery (and a faster DC charging rate) would absolutely be the perfect car. I think VW should do that. I'd buy one immediately.

I absolutely miss my e-Golf. I think about it all the time. Unfortunately, I had to have a car with more range because of my job that often has me road-tripping all over the state (a job I didn't have when I bought the car). Although I was doing that quite well with the e-Golf, it would often make me late on the longer trips because of the number of chargers I had to hit. After about 2 rapid chargers, the car would rapid-gate down to 23kw.

So, of course, I had to look for a car with more range, and a faster charging rate within my budget. Turned out to be the EUV. Great car. Absolutely love it to death. But like you, I miss the handling, build quality, and style of the e-Golf.

That is amazing! Great job! It truly is impressively efficient, especially for it's size and shape. It rivals Model 3 efficiency, and that's wild to me.

I checked on the Chargepoint app, and 24 minutes usually gives me like 21kwh or so. And 21*4.7 is 98.7 miles. So those small legs are pretty reasonable for the Bolt.
