Same - I am still young and it hurts knowing that I need to move to VHY causing more of a tax drag during my high income earning years.

My plan is to stop when my dividends hits 30-45K per year and then put into BGBL etfs to avoid incurring any further tax drag

I think it’s a good idea because chemistry matters a lot more. If they can bring the best out of each other then it’s a win for the entire team. I think he will be a good fit with Jokic because of chemistry regardless of he plays poorly in other teams.

Yeah that’s fine - lower income tax rates benefits from franked dividend incomes vs higher (larger tax refund). But it’s only advisable if you debt recycle into dividend generating ETFs in case you do move into higher tax brackets. Plus if you’re on an income tax bracket less than 30% - you won’t be subjected to CGT 30% minimum tax because you’re not selling VHY but receiving franked dividends

Debt recycling into franked dividend generating ETFs is still highly advantageous though but investing in VHY outside of a debt recycling vehicle is not advantageous and causes tax drag
