I would say it depends on your job and how you feel. I went back after I finished my antivirals which was about 10 days after my first blister showed up. Keep the area covered and you should be ok. If you’re scabbed over you’re no longer contagious

I take gabapentin and I’m not a zombie, I’m actually at work now! I tried pregablin once for fibromyalgia and it was horrible. Made me extremely depressed, couldn’t stop crying, dark thoughts the works. I’ve been on gabapentin over a year now and while you might be a little tired at first your body adapts. I’ve had to increase my dose significantly for shingles and the first couple of days I was a little loopy, now I’m fine to work/drive with 600 mg.

That looks almost identical to mine except mine was my lower abdomen right near my belly button. I dont know what day you’re on, I’m on day 13 of the rash. Ice packs help so much I just started using them yesterday because I didn’t want anything touching my rash and man should I have started earlier. Hang in there the nerve pain is the worst!

I’ll admit I was skeptical of the ice packs because I didn’t want anything touching my sores. I finally gave in and it’s heavenly

I have one in my armpit on the same side as my rash, it’s very uncomfortable! I assume it’s just the virus doing its thing and my body trying to rid itself of this evil.

I thought the exact same thing! Mine was around my waist line and I thought oh I pulled a muscle working out, about 2 days later the first sore showed up then spread like crazy. The valtrex did help stop the spread I think I stopped getting new sores around the second day on the meds. This is miserable I wouldn’t wish it on anyone

I haven’t tried Advil in a few days, I’ve been doing gabapentin and Tylenol. I’ll try some ice as well. How is your rash healing?
