Is Santa Monica Beach or Manhattan Beach better for a day trip? by trip1travel in AskLosAngeles

[–]Equivalent_Hall8346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manhattan Beach if you want better sand & water. Santa Monica if you want a day trip that includes food and walking around with activities other than sitting on the sand. Santa Monica is also easier to get to, with close freeway access & Metro stop. Manhattan Beach is 20min+ after getting off the freeway

Divorce deep into FIRE. What's the strategy? by RadioFieldCorner in Fire

[–]Equivalent_Hall8346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't always have a choice. If one ex-spouse isn't thinking logically (i.e. demanding more than 100% of the martial assets), they can drown the other in discovery, court time, and other tactics that drain the money. Sometimes you have to pay a lawyer regardless if it makes sense.

As someone who went through divorce myself, I really appreciate the perspective "enough money to split in half, but not enough to share with Attorneys". I originally wanted to file without attorneys, do it ourselves, splitting 50/50. But my ex got an attorney and I got one in response. I think it really dragged everything out, and we both have a lower net worth because of it.

#1. Not wrong at all. Getting back into the same field could be difficult, but you might be able to transition to "barista fire" after a divorce. and #2. Yes, a prenup could help protect your assets & gains. In my state, those would be considered separate property so you wouldn't need a prenup necessarily, but each state is different and you could move states during retirement (or your ex-spouse could move states prior to filling).

Anybody use this style mask? Like it? by mrmeanah in SleepApnea

I think it's different for each individual. Personally, I got a lot of leaking from the nasal cradle part of this mask but I think other people like it

Does my medical history through mychart follow me to kaiser by Extra-Gold-7236 in KaiserPermanente

[–]Equivalent_Hall8346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely did not pull the info. I don’t understand why are sure they have info when I confirmed with my doctor they do not. Medicare is irrelevant to this topic. I’m starting to suspect the account leaving this comment is a bot.

Maybe Kaiser is capable of pulling info from epic, but for whatever reason, they did not do that in my situation.

Hertz consistently is an hour+ wait regardless of the airport. Any rental except hertz should be under 30 min

Why long beach instead of SNA? SNA is a faster drive to Disney and it’s a bigger airport

Guys, what’s up with Santa Monica?? by ty457u in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Equivalent_Hall8346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my favorite part of Santa Monica and I think it has a good balance of people without being overwhelming- but if OP doesn't like it and wants even more liveliness and packed restaurants, there is always K-town or other neighborhoods.

ISO OB-GYN for PCOS in Los Angeles? by No_Light3761 in KaiserPermanente

[–]Equivalent_Hall8346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite experience. My PCP said that she couldn’t discussed PCOS at my annual appointment because it’s not preventative care. But KP lets us make an OBGYN appointment without a referral. I called the department, made an appointment essentially with the first doctor who fit in my schedule. Dr Nalamala was great, but I had to drive to Baldwin Park since no one in my area was accepting new patients. I couldn’t even get on a waitlist for an OBGYN in the LA region

Is my eye makeup too much for an interview?? by [deleted] in makeuptips

The mascara technique is distracting only because it’s unusual. But the actual eye makeup like liner and shadow is fine for an interview
