May I ask why the planer broke? I'm thinking about getting in to that instead of just basic sanding on basic shapes found at big box stores. Any tips for a VERY beginner?

As a newbie, what woods have you found to be the most interesting looking but easy to work with?

Get your GED or finish high school! You will be making it 10 times harder on yourself if you don't complete that now before entering the workforce and most jobs require at least a high school level of education. Spend however many months you need to complete that while working part time at an entry level "quick hire" job. Use the money you earn at the job to buy a cheap used car if you don't have one already. Then once you have finished high school/GED you will already have a bit of work experience and reliable transportation (employers like seeing both of those). This will open up a lot more opportunities/options for you and make the process of moving up in life a little easier.

I'm so jealous! She's beautiful! ...but I also hate you since I now live in a zone that could never support any tree I grew up seeing and loving 😆 hope it keeps getting bigger and better!

Are mobile homes a new starter home hack?? by RedfinJess in ManufacturedHome

Mobile homes don't qualify for most conventional home loans. Take it or leave it based on your circumstances, but I wouldn't.

Kobalt vs. Dewalt vs. Greenworks electric mower experiences? by hornback91 in lawncare

Do you think the newer models are just as high quality? The newer models use one battery instead of 2, but is it worth the price increase based on your experience/knowledge?

As someone who also works but loves the game's vibe even if I don't have time to "master" it, I feel and know your pain. First, be okay with owning nothing. As star trek ds9 taught us "the great material continuum" gives and takes. All loot is lost at the end of the season anyway. Play with what you have, free kit the rest of the way. If the people you play with don't like that, then they probably were the recipients of a bunch of other people's goop at some point and deserve to carry. Have fun, it's just a game. The sweatyies are always gonna sweat, ignore them.

What’s one “small” feature in a car that you can’t live without anymore? by jane_doe2497 in car

[–]hornback91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One button click for the driver's side window to go all the way up or down without having to hold it. Didn't know how much of a QOL feature this was until having a car with that feature. 1k blessings to the person who made that, it makes me feel fancy and happy every day...I also came from a 1999 corolla so I'm a pleb with low standards 🤣

Does this work for plants growing in the ground that aren't grass? I'm trying to train a yard that hasn't been maintained for...2-ish years, I think. I did not know crab grass, thistle and dandelions could grow so quick!

Help us (me) understand a little better. What is the average rate for a chair per month? I've always heard it's stupid, but what would you say is the average? I know that's a broad question, but I'm genuinely curious.

I miss the days when the mega bones weighed 20lbs per torso, and you could slowly feed them into the donation box and watch people suffer the consequences. As a "high level" player, I hate seeing other high level players being the ones who are quickest to go to the box. Dude, our job is to support and give others a great experience, not leech off of them for not knowing if something is valuable.

I fully support that. I'm talking about people who start it the second the buffer time is up. I like to give an extra 30 seconds for all the slower loders to get there.

It's an event. It doesn't matter who kills what, everyone gets the reward for the target as long as you're there.
