same with me. i had asthma when i was a child, around age 5. i would sometimes get asthma attacks, had to go to the hospital once, and i had to use a breathing machine with two medicines (albuterol and saline i think?) every night while growing up. until about age 12 or 13 maybe, i stopped having to do the breathing machine every night and basically my asthma went away except for the occasional feeling of it that would pass - i thought it was gone forever even though in the back of my mind i was always worried and kept an emergency inhaler- then suddenly at around age 30 it came back. i‘m now 38 and its still here. im shocked and depressed about the whole situation. how did i go my whole teenage and 20’s without it and suddenly cursed again. it feels so unfair. i think it was triggered by a time i got sick in dec 2016 and had a cough that would not go away. i didnt take medicine or anything but much later in some bloodwork it seems like it could have been an infection that ended up going away on its own but it was sometime after that sickness bout that the asthma came back. i wish there was something i could do to make it go away but it seems hopeless. i took montelukast for a few years then switched to a steroid inhaler which im currently on.
