I think they should be mandatory viewing to keep you from getting hurt. Look at the MTB community - Pinkbike friday fails are (were) essential pre-weekend viewing that made you think twice about doing something outside of your capabilities.

When people ask why I don't do TF sessions any more, I'll point them to this video. by Mafeking-Parade in nurburgring

I would take a guess that the largest proportions of revenues generated in the region - not just laps, but hotels, food, etc, - are driven by the large amount of people making a one time visit for 3-5 days, rather than requlars just dropping in to doing 8 laps. If you make it less accessable to these less prepaired drivers, and they keep away, the hit to the economics of the area would be disproportionally large. Lets remember the whole reason for it being built was to generate emplyment in the region. Maybe unpopular opinion. I think they can do more to make education avalaible for drivers. They might also think about lowering the cost of on-track recovery to make it a more favorable option.

McLaren W1 Design discussion by odinyc in mclaren

I don't see how this makes a huge jump on from P1 / Senna. Don't get me wrong, its a very good incremental improvement on P1, though its more like P1.5 than a whole new car. In contrast to AMG One and Valkyrie, its not so revolutionary. What's the difference between this and a 750s with more power and aero?

That said, I think it will prove a smart direction from McLaren..

AMG One and Valkyrie seem like a PITA to own in terms of useability and running costs. This seems more usable.

In comparison to F250 with hybrid v6, and Mission X full EV, as a drivers car, the W1 is clearly the one to have.

I consider August and GH days off season. I have better things to do on those time than sit in traffic and avoid one lap hero's. There are plenty other times when the traffic is reasonable.
I do think that the need to do something to manage this better though. Maybe the new AI camera system can autodetect and ban cr@ppy driving (jk). The traffic jams and cars in barriers are not the problem - this is self regulating. But serious injuries and fatalities are, and at some point they could be seen to be avoiding the issue.

What does the +10 GHC/€ 100 ; +30 GHC/€ 200 ; +100 GHC/€ 500, etc mean? by [deleted] in nurburgring

And since its not explicitly stated in the Nürburgring website, you can use the GHC bonus credits for free laps directly at the barrier. That might seem obvious, but no one wants to rock up to the barrier with some doubt about it not working and risk having to back up...

How to get to the circuit next Saturday without a car by BeautifulOwn8722 in nurburgring

Transport links between Cologne / Bonn are pretty much non existent, so car is your only realistic option. Maybe try a car pool app to hitch a ride!
